Today's Rankings!! AP - 7th / Coaches - 8th

I really think that we should pass SDSU today. I mean SDSU almost lost to CSU and TCU played them close. Plus, we've beaten SDSU head-to-head. Any more thoughts??

Don't think that will happen. I agree with wrubbell tweets, probably jump Uconn as they lost. SDSU will move up one with us moving up one as well in the AP. SDSU will jump Uconn and so will ND in the coaches poll and we might follow suit. We might not even move up in the coaches poll though because I don't see Uconn losing 3 spots for one loss... I think 7 in AP, stay pat at 9 in Coaches.

BYU is 7th, 1 behind SDSU at 6 in the AP poll.

Per Wrubell: BYU 7th in AP, SDSU 6th. The good thing is that it will still give us the underdog mentality going into San Diego

I also REALLY like that POY voters are forced to put JImmer's Cougars over Kemba's doggies.

I'm surprised Uconn dropped that far. I mean, they are 7th in the BE... wait, they're 7th in their conference and in the top 10 in the nation? I know the BE is good but that good?

Seriously though, I am surprised the voters dropped them that far after one game. Good news though, that they are giving the cougs credit for some good wins. Lets just hope our NCAA seed allows us to avoid a super long and athletic team in the second round of the tourney.

Passed by Notre Dame in the coaches poll. Realistically us and SDSU should be switched.

True, UCONN only lost 1 game, but I think they probably also got punished a little bit for BARELY beating a bad Seton Hall team, and having to rally from behind to do it (they should have lost that game)

This is perfect. Even if BYU loses to SDSU, they aren't going to drop too far. They may not drop at all. If they can take care of UNM at MC and make it to the MWC tourney final I think they've got a 2 locked up.

If they lose at SDSU they'll probably HAVE to win the MWC tourney to lock up a 2. The Notre Dame's and UCONN's of the world will contiune to pass us up because of their "TOUGHER" conference. Realistically it'll probably be either SDSU or BYU with a 2 seed but not both. A lot of it will depend on who wins and where. If we lose to SDSU at San Diego and then meet them in the MWC conference tourney final the winner will likely get the 2 seed whereas the loser is most likely a 3 or a 4.

Picture this: SDSU enters the NCAA tourney with 3 losses--all 3 from BYU. BYU with 2 loses. How cool would that be?

The CBS Sports college pregame show yesterday gave both sdsu and byu 2 seeds. probably unlikely, but not impossible. would be cool.
