Chambers switching to Safety

O'Neil Chambers has been asked to move to Safety and is said to be willing to make the change.



I like the move.

Actually, I think he'll be a punishing player on special teams and strong safety.

He'll have a much bigger potential impact at Safety than he would at WR. He has good size and his aggressiveness will serve him well on defense.

the fact that he is willing hopefully speaks volumes about where OC's head is right now.

I like this move.



His emotion can fire up the D, where this better fits his personality.

Do you mean that he is gray-shirting through the 2011 FB season, and can be on the team again in 2012? If so, now seems like a very early time to be discussing his future position, but it sounds good that the staff is keeping in touch with him.

If I recall, he played some safety in high school, so it's not completely uncharted territory for him, either.

I like the change. He's not a burner on offense, and has never impressed as a wide-out. However he blocks well, and isn't afraid to make a hit. He is plenty athletic to play safety, and if he can play it smart, he could be fantastic there.

I mentioned this as a good move his freshman year, I thought he had a fire that could be usable in the secondary. Our talent and depth is huge at WR for a long time, in 2 seasons when he returns it'll be a great move.

It'll give him some time to learn the position as well

The BIG thing Chambers brought was aggressive attitude - in your face. He will be a physical & aggressive safety! I think he will excel!! IMHO. I like it.

Chambers tackles Langi for a 4 yard loss.....AGAIN..



I could get used to hearing that.

Does he have to gray shirt in 2011 or is it up to Bronco?
