BYU has moved up to 8th in the latest AP ranking. Stays at 9 in the Coaches poll.

SDSU falls to 7th in the AP and 6th in the coaches..

People recognize that this is a good team. They also recognize that the Pit is a tough place to play. This is also part of the Jimmer effect. It also shows that people are paying attention to this team much more than we thought, and that they took into account the win over SDSU much more than the loss on the road to UNM.

If we had won out through the MWC tourney - I had predicted a 1-seed. That window, or was it a door, closed.

If we win out now - 2-seed. It will be undeniable. But that is a lot of winning. SDSU twice, for example. Luckily, we have road games at UNM, UNLV, and CSU over with and done as well as the rivalry game with Utah on the road and nationally ranked USU.

Utah

and MWC Tournament vs any of the above will have varying degrees of danger for us. We should be favored in all except @SDSU and maybe @UNLV on their home court in the MWC UNLV Invitational tourney.

I think we can still get a two seed if we only lose one more time and only to SDSU - either in the tourney or in San Diego.

We aren't deep enough, big enough on the inside, and Emery isn't consistent enough on offense for us to win out. There are 2 potential losses on the table, 1) @SDSU and 2) at some point in the MWC tournament.

It win be nice to win one of the two, either at SDSU or the MWC tourney. But i would prefer winning at SDSU, since winning conference tournaments doesn't seems to work against most teams.
