Not enough teams to fill a Top 10

Dook got spanked on the road by a team that was only 3 games above .500 at tipoff. Syracuse lost on the road to a team that was only 5 games above .500 at tipoff. Ohio State barely escaped with a win over a team that had the same record as UNM at tipoff. UConn, Villanova and Pitt all lost at home to lower ranked teams. Oh, and SDSU lost to a lower ranked team. This means that there will be no Top 10 this week. Nobody is good enough. These teams don't even belong in the Top 15!



To the dude (his screen name escapes me) who exhausted all of his negative energy on Saturday afternoon lamenting that BYU was not even a Top 15 team because they lost to a "terrible team" on the road, because everybody on the team sucks but Jimmer, that even Jimmer stinks because he can't play D... cram it!

Sure makes the loss easier to take, doesn't it? When those so-called elite BE schools go down at home to patsies, there's no way our loss is as bad...

I think we probably got carried away thinking that this team could win the rest of their games. This weekend goes to show that it's almost impossible to go through a conference, any conference, undefeated. One of the toughest things to do statistically in sports is to win on the road in college basketball. Home team wins something like 70% of the games.

If BYU was going to pick a week to lose a game, this was a great week to do it.
