Emery had two fouls with 9 minutes to go in the 1st half. Abouo looks like he is getting some confidence back. KC is playing a little better too. Davies is acting like he knows that he is a star.

Durrant say that Rose wopn't be happy with the whistle in this game. AN UNDERSTATEMENT! NM has taken Jimmer out of his game and turned him into a pinball, and he gets NO calls! Meanwhile we get all kinds of ticky tacky calls! I am SOOOO frustrated!!!!

This game has me so pissed because I saw it coming a mile away. While everyone in the world was fawning over Jimmer and the team doing interviews on ESPN every freaking day they expected to walk in a just beat UNM--where BYU get regularly owned! They got up 13 and said "We're on ESPN a lot so we'll win this." Then they got their butts handed to them by a team that basically shot 100% the last 15 mins. Sucky game. We probably wont' lose another but we had this one in the bag.

Well that sucked....

If a bad (yes it is bad) loss gets them realizing that fame is fleeting then so be it. There's not another game that should challenge us too much this year (we already won in Vegas) so we really need to win out now and at least get to the tourney finals. UNM sucks--if they played like that every night they'd be a lock for the tourney. Instead they save their best for BYU so they can make a few highlights tonight. I knew Gary would own us if we didn't put them away...

Jimmer looked slow on D against Gary last year, too. We played much better defensively when Jackson or Abouo was guarding him. This is part of the reason why lots of people don't think Jimmer will do well in the NBA---most of the point guards are agile like the guards Jimmer has struggled against.

I understand that Jimmer isn't the best defender but I mean he looked extra slow on D.

Would that also include the type of guards that Jimmer has lit up offensively? The NBA is chalk full of guys who struggle defensively and who can't hit the shots Jimmer can.

So they lost because Jimmer was on espn this week? haha got it. How about stop collapsing on the guy driving into the paint and guarding the 3 point line instead? The D was pathetic today. Top 10 teams dont give up 55 second half points to a mediocre NM team.

Oh well, just another reason to get out of this crap conference. Granted that we went cold from outside, but Jimmer was being fouled every time he went inside. This was mostly ignored, while they allowed UNM a lopsided FT advantage. Two of Jimmer's four fouls were completely false. And also false was the tie-up called when Jimmer was roughly fouled. Emery's fourth foul was also phantom.



Certainly, UNM went lights-out from the perimeter in the last ten minutes, while we lost our opportunities to out-play the officials. However, there's no denying that these refs were on the Lobos' team, and were aiding UNM's scoring runs in the last twelve minutes.



At least Jimmer was able to just exceed his PPG average, so it won't drop. It's too bad that this crap game had to be more widely seen on Versus, and that it had to come so soon after the big emotional event on Wednesday.
