Skip Bayless is clueless (as usual)

I don't necessarily enjoy ESPN's First Take, it's just what's on in the morning before I go the school/work, so I watch the first 10-20 minutes.



This morning, they were talking about Jimmer's pro potential, and they just said the usual stuff, but Bayless had the most ridiculous argument against Jimmer I've ever heard.



Basically, he said that Steve Fisher choosing to use just one player to guard Jimmer the whole night sent a message...



I'm not sure what message Bayless was referring to, but the message I got was that if you don't focus your defensive strategy around stopping Jimmer, he is good enough to almost outscore your entire team by himself!



If anyone has any insight into what exactly Bayless was trying to say, please enlighten me because I'm not getting it.

Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd are the two most clueless, self-promoting dopes on TV today. There's no insight into what Skip said because there's no thought behind it. Its totally meaningless.

Besides, somebody has to hate Jimmer in the press. Bc everybody else is so infatuated with him, except Digger. Hes just mad about the name competition.

SDSU tried at least 2 different players guarding Jimmer. The CBS-C announcers even commented on it when the switch was made, saying that they had put a bigger man on him to see if a taller defender could stop him.

After submitting the above, I thought maybe I misinterpreted this, and Bayless meant that he was only single covered all night. This is just as false as there were numerous doubles thrown at him, and many comments in the media after the game as to how easily he was able to split the double coverages.

Skip Bayless is named after lame maritime adventure. Jimmer is superior.

Jimmer is further evidence to what I've said my whole life, you don't have to be lightning quick, or jump out of the gym, or be 7 feet tall to be a great bball player. Skill is far more important than "athleticism", whatever that term means. I've always hated watching real tall players play basketball, they can't dribble, they can't run, they can't shoot--and so why are they on the floor?



Jimmer scores against the tall, the long, and the quick--he doesn't care, and it doesn't matter who guards him, he can make life miserable for whoever is guarding him. SDSU is supposedly the best defensive team in the country, and supposedly they put their best defensive player on Jimmer. Ok, and Jimmer gets 43 against that guy, and that team.

For Skip Bayless to be so dismissive of the performance last night, shows that 1) he didn't really watch the game and so he's simply basing his ill-informed opinion on his ill-informed perceptions or 2) he simply drew the contrarian straw in pre-productio or 3) he's just a dink.
