One of my avid NBA follower friends and I had a nice chat about Jimmer today and I threw out the name Vinne Johnson out of the blue and after looking up his size and college stats, I think we have a winner.



I like the Mark Price comparison, but Price had been a point his entire life and just happened to be a great scorer from that position.



Vinnie was a scorer 1st and foremost and I think that's a role that Jimmer could fill from day 1, while point is going to take him some time.

Jimmer's been a point his entire life as well.



Bottom line: Jimmer can play in the Association. He may not be a star. He may not be a starter. But he can make shots and score. There are plenty of players in the NBA who aren't starters or stars who CAN'T score or make shots like Jimmer can.

Good comparison. Vinnie "the Microwave" Johnson, the nickname fits because he sure could heat up fast.



How about Jimmer "Don Juan" Fredette, because he can score any time, any where.
