Nice gap in the RPI

As I stated to Rfurr this week, winning or losing wouldn't hurt us, so there wasn't much reason to be anything but thrilled by the game; HOWEVER, winning was a huge payday. We're now lightyears ahead in the RPI and should be manage to win all our home games, and only possibly lose to SDSU /UNM on the road, then make it to the finals of the conf tourney, we have a solid argument for a 2 seed.



If we win out (which we won't, our bigs are still foul prone and it'll bite us eventually) then we have a rock solid argument for a #1.



UNM is really really dangerous at their place, I hope our guys come back down to earth before the game, but I'd take a win over SDSU that got national attention and a loss to UNM than a loss to SDSU and a win over UNM.....even if our RPI and ranking would benefit more from a sdsu loss and a unm win.



We have more to lose @UNM, but what we accomplished nationally with SDSU is priceless.

I think our guys are pretty focused, which comes from having two senior guards. Even in Jimmer's post game interview on CBS he was saying how they've got UNM on Sat. and a loss at UNM would tarnish the win against SDSU.



Rose has a good record at the Pit and UNM isn't as potent as years past. If our bigs can handle CSU and SDSU's bigs, I think they'll fair well against UNM.



Anderson really helped us out last night. Davies had to spend time on the bench and Anderson came in and certainly didn't disappoint, in fact was a game changer for us with those 5 blocks.



In watching SDSU and Utah, SDSU really struggled against Foster. It wasn't that Foster was dominating (he only had like 4 pts) it was the fact he was so huge and it threw SDSU off. Anderson had that effect a bit on SDSU last night.

We better win that game at UNM. If we don't, we lose a lot of the national momentum we've gained with last night's win. IMHO. We lose and then the media start saying that we beat SDSU because their start player was sick and it was a home game and we really haven't done much else because we lost at UCLA and at UNM.



This is big.

UNM only has 1 loss at The Pit this year and that was to SDSU by 10 points and they just SMOKED TCU by 25 at home so this Saturday's game is not going to be easy that's for sure. To be honest I almost want this win as much as the SDSU game to get some revenge for last year.

Conference championship is going to come down to who can win on the road. Yes, you have to take care of things at home, but the champion will be able to win on the road. So far, BYU is doing that. To win the championship, which is the goal of the team, they'll have to win on the road.

very big, but not a loss that would surprise me. It's still the Pit.
