TE Player Changes/Moves - per Gurney

Gurney Tweeted yesterday that Mathews would be moving back to WR and that Muehlmann would be moving to DE. Looks like that leaves Wilson, Mahina, and Holt. Sorry if this is old news

If this is true, I like it. We don't need 5 TE's and Matthews is a more natural wide reciever then a TE. Mahina was the best recieving TE by the end of the year and Wilson and Holt are both more natural TE's. I don't know much about Muehlmann but we probably need more defensive lineman then we need TE's.

I like this move a lot too. If nothing else it increases the number of rotations for a couple of guys, giving them the practice that they so desperately need.

What about Kaneakua Friel? Does anybody know when he returns from his mission? Also, I had heard that Holt might be moved to OL.

I believe Friel is back in time for the season.. but I don't know his return date... I talked to a guy who lives in the same home ward as Holt.. I had heard they asked him to switch to DE and he declined and asked to stay at TE... I had also heard at one point Wilson was asked to switch to LB again.. seems like that won't happen now...

Was a raging success moving So'to from TE to DE (with a pitstop at LB between). Hopefully this is the same.

And that's why I still truly think Muehlmann won't ever amount to much on this team. I think he's way too slow to play defensive end and still the chicken legs and easy going down thing isn't going to help him much at that position either. He's a good guy but with very little athleticism. Too bad...

Isn't Wilson 6'2". Isn't that actually quite short for a TE?

He returned on 5 Jan 2011 from the South Africa Dubin Mission
