mwc: gave sds permission to air homegame on local network

What the Freak? Changes must have quietly happened I'm not aware of, but SDSU was allowed to air home games against: San Diego, Cal, Air Force. I'll let the first two slide knowing that they are in-state. I guess the mtn/mwc let those slide. But AF is a conference team, sure the Navy is nearby, but go back to 2006, BYU was screwed royally and weren't allowed to air any home conference games on their own network. That's just wierd. Just giving y'all something else to use to fuel the anger against the asstecs.

Not angry with sdsu, but sure fuels the anti-mwc/Mtn feelings stirring within.

BYU was given permission to show the Fresno State game on KBYU (not BYUTV). BYU chose not to.



All of BYU's conference games have been or will be on one of the networks (mtn/cbscs/vs/cbs), and thus aren't available for local broadcast. SDSU have had a couple games on conference not televised. (How stupid is the MWC for not showing a top 5 team?)

I agree, but let's go out with a bang and like the ex girlfriend who wears a killer outfit just to torment the ex-boyfriend, let's show the MWC next year just what they had, but lost because they went sneaking after another.

It's worth noting that the Mtn probably has zero say in how/when games are allowed to be broadcast on other networks. That's probably a decision that is entirely made by Comcast. Comcast isn't about to allow a national network broadcast its games. If it sees a local affiliate that is willing to purchase the game without cannibalizing national ratings then I think they're willing to deal. That is what happened with BYU on KBYU, BYU just elected not to purchase the broadcast rights since it couldn't get the exposure it wanted on byuTV. Local (Wasatch Front) broadcast = okay. National broadcast that would cannibalize other Mtn games = not okay.



I'm no lawyer, but that's how I think Comcast sees it.



I think the folks at the Mtn are probably doing their best for the MWC, but Comcast has a bottom line and corporate stupidity.



That said, good riddance to the MWC.
