RPI & Bracketology

It's fascinating that RealTimeRPI has BYU ranked #1 and San Diego State #4 in RPI. At the same time, the same website shows both BYU and San Diego State as 5-seeds in their Brackets. Any logic to that? I'm really confused.



They're projecting each team to lose on the road against the other, with no other losses. :skeptic:

I saw that too. Thought it was very odd.

It is early to complain about seeding. BYU needs to focus on winning. At 33-1 or so i.e. win out through the tournamnet - it will be very hard for the Tourney to screw us on seeding. If we go in with 3 or 4 losses - we will get screwed for sure.



UNLV is very beatable in Las Vegas. So all we gotta do is beat SDSU in Provo, again in San Diego, and again on a neutral court in Las Vegas - oh yeah - and beat everyone else too!



A 5 seed must be assuming at least one loss in conference regular season and a loss to UNLV in the Tourney.



In 2010, BYU lost 4 regular season games, a MWC tourney game, making 5 losses before getting a mediocre seed, and losing in the 2nd round for 6 losses.



Mid Majors are just not allowed to lose. it is not fair, but it is the way it is in BB and FB.
