What does San Diego learn from watching CSU game?

I think they saw a frustrated Jimmer score 42 points.

I think they saw BYU struggle when 3 starters had fouls called on them.

I think they realize what Davies means to this team.

I think they realize that we don't have to play defense...no one has been able to keep up with us

I think they realize that all of Jimmer's best games are away from the MC

I think they realize that the MC is ACTUALLY a sell-out and not a give-out.

I think they realize they can't win this game...

SDSU learns that BYU is a very mentally tough team that finds ways to win. You can't intimidate BYU. The Cougars know how to answer runs, end runs and start runs of their own. BYU may look soft, but they're not. They'll fight and scrap and just get it done.



SDSU should learn that you can't run with BYU. UNLV tried, Utah tried, CSU tried. If you try to run with BYU, you have to slow the game down.



You can't let BYU get out and run. You have to keep them in the half court and hope they miss more shots - which isn't something BYU is doing right now.

Exactly--they learn that their winning streak will end and BYU will prove they are the best team in the West.

They also learn that they might possibly lose to the Rams...

I learned that giving tickets away is a good way to get fans to go. I went to the Texas Tech game against Nebraska (Techs first conference win) and there were more fans at the MC tonight then the United Spirit Arena (women played in MC)



Oh, and I represented for y'all. Every time I saw Henderson I threw my upside down Yew, local fans suspected nothing as they do a 'guns up' sign, Henderson saw. But I also had my huge Y jacket on, which I flashed to Henderson during and after the game (he sat on bench by students-he stopped looking after a while) and then I held up my Y logo at the Nebraska coaches and players reminding them of their LV nightmare when they left for the locker room...in a classy way!



And then I saw several Y fans running home to catch the Y win another roadie.



Tonight was educational for many.

I think they learned that stopping Jimmer is impossible and that you can't even hope to contain him.

They may have also learned that Ogide had little trouble getting the entry pass and that the Cougs tend to let even the hottest player on the other team keep shooting. (it's just usually not the guy that everyone expects)



I'm glad to get out of Ft. Collins, but we had a couple weaknesses exposed tonight too.

To shut down the perimeter, Pound it inside, get our bigs in foul trouble, take away that threat, and then they don't have to pack the paint and can take away byu's strength--its perimeter game.

Put your most athletic defender on Jimmer and hawk him off the ball; as well run Jimmer around on defense till he's tired--ofcourse that's if Jimmer actually chases. :-)

They learned that Jimmer will score a lot of points on Wednessday, but he will score more when BYU goes to San Diego.

Slow the game down. The announcers kept saying that Smith was bothering Jimmer, but he ended up with the same amount of points being guarded by him.



The biggest thing CSU did was slow down the game, which made it so BYU took less shots. They were able to do that because they were making shots. CSU also rebounded really well in the second half.
