That makes our announcement last summer seem pretty insignificant. But i am sure good things will come with BYUtv / ESPN, we just need to WIN!

Texas had to go visit BYU to see how they do it, now they get quadruple-billion more. What bull-crap. When BYU wins by 23 points in Texas, I'll be glad.

240 mil over 20 years, so that's 12 mil per year. I don't think anyone has heard official numbers yet but the numbers I remember hearing tossed around were in the range of 750k for small schools and up to 2 mil for big names (like Texas) when we bring them in, and the average I heard projected was in the 7-8 mil/year range. Like I said I don't think anyone knows how much it was but that was the speculation, and if that's not too far off I still think we have a pretty fare shake down. BYU has a lot of fans in Utah and some fans other places, Texas owns a majority share of the Texas state market as well as a national powerhouse brand, I don't mind them getting 50% more or so per year. I still think we're getting significantly more than any of the other current non-AQ schools could get in a similar deal, and there are only a handful of teams in the nation that could demand what Texas does as far as branding and viewership.

I haven't read any articles on this.

Does this mean Texas will be going Indy next year? Good bye to the Big XII?

This could be dangerous for the Big XII.

So does this mean the ESPN/ABC will be the driving force behind a new cable TV station called TexasTV or something? Or does it mean that Texas will play everything on ESPN?

This kind of money over a 20 year contract is just sick. It could mean the end of college football as we know it.
