BYU coaching staff and vacancies

Somebody enlighten me on the shake up, who's in who's out?



Bronco - Head Coach

Doman - OC and QB Coach (Out is Anae)

Dupaiz - RB Coach (Who did he come in for Reynolds?)

HIggins out as WR coach

What happened to Weber or OL coach?



Defense remained the same with right with the promotion of Poppinga to LB coach? Who did he take over for?



Somebody give me a run down of everything that's been made official.

This is everything that is official:



Bronco - Head Coach

Doman - OC, QB coach

DuPaix - Assistant Offensive Coach (Not specifically named to a positions group yet, assumed to be slot receivers and TE)



Anae hired at AZ

Higgins hired at Purdue



No other moves have been made at this time, leaving:



Weber as Oline coach

Reynolds as RB coach

Dupaix came in for Anae to coache inside recievers (TE/Slot). No word on whether Weber, the OL coach, will go the way of Higgins or will be back.



Right now, we have one official vacancy.

Just to clear up what may be confusing you

Doman was already on staff and keeps his previous duties as well as being OC, so the open position vacated by Anae was still open. Anae in addition to being OC was inside receivers position coach.



DuPaix used up the open position created when Anae left. His exact role has not been specified, but he used up that open slot and we had no other open slots.



Then Higgins left. That created an open slot. It remains to be seen who will fill it.



It has not been announced whether Reynolds and Weber are staying.

I expect BYU will make one last hire, then state that the staff is complete. Meaning that Reynolds and Weber still have their position jobs. I just do not see either leaving. And I do not see BYU "announcing" that they are to remain in their spots. Makes no sense to do that.

Hey I think we agree. If they state that "the staff is complete" - announcing that Reynolds and Weber are back would be redundant.



But if there is some swapping of duties - they might carify that when they announce the last hire and hopefully also clarify DuPaix's duties.



And, I would imagine that they know exactly who they want to hire and are just working through the details and / or any complications involving his release from another school - if any.

Great, thanks for the info. So it looks like we're all set assuming Reynolds and Weber stay and that they hire a WR coach.

Secondary - Bronco?



So don't we have room for one more defensive hire?

I hope Howell can really master his coaching position, because we got scorched over the top at the end of the year. Secondary is our biggest weakness...it needs to be solid!

Has there been any buzz about old Cougar Dennis Simmons as WR coach?
