Do BYU fans storm the court vs SDSU?

The Marriott Center isn't designed for easy storming, so I'm not sure we will. I'm not sure we should either. A top 10 team beating another top 10 team at home isn't cause for court storming. It's not really an upset. Top 10 teams should be expected to win at home - regardless of opponent.

He must have meant when we are playing at SDSU. In that case, yes, I am in favor of BYU fans storming the court.

At SDSU have Heaps dress up like a missionary and throw a few footballs through the hoops.

If we storm the court, it'll make it even harder at the Casino of Asstecs. They'd want payback. I voted yes though because I'm desperate for intimate cougar contact (umm...)



If storming the court means BYU will have thousands of loud excited fans then I'm in. Now that I can't even attend a home game I have remained appreciative, but also frustrated at the many in the valley that call themselves Cougar fans, but don't go to games...I can make up excuses to, but when "your" team is in the top 10 for the first time in how freakin' long, you have the #1 of #2 BYU player of ALL-TIME, and playing utah, sds, unlv, nm, all at home, fans better freakin' get there and at least be thinking about storming.

SDSU could well be a top 5 team at that point. Has the Y ever beaten a team ranked in the top 5 in Basketball? I say let the good times roll! Enjoy the moment, ya don't get a chance like that very often. Only wish I was there to lead the charge!!!

Beating them on our home floor is not an upset at all. Please, please don't storm the court. We're not the stupid Uties and we don't have to rush the field/storm the court/fire guns into the air after every single accomplishment. We expect to win, we know we're the better team, let's act like it.

Ditto! Now if we beat unlv in the unlv tourney, to win the tourney championship, maybe. BUt that celebration would be more: "veni, vidi, vici"--"we came, we saw, we conquered" the fricken MWC and kicked them on our way out!

I vowed never to go to that abysmal tourney ever again. But for this scenario, I would go and there would be stormin--even if it meant getting locked up. And for fun I would spit on the center court (and probably get my ars handed to me by some drunk fan or drunk security guy who witnessed it.) :lol: :evil:

Please don't storm the court on a win against SDSU.

I have always liked the idea of "act like you've been there before". I hope it sticks with my son! :)

Iirc, back in the day, St. Joseph's came into the Big Mac as we called it back then before the Mariotts asked fans out of respect not to liken it to a hamburger, and Kresimir Cosic and the boys whipped them. iirc. Can't swear to it. Pretty sure though. And we did not storm the court.



But then - I did storm the field when we beat Miami as a clear underdog when they were number 1.



My son, wants to see this game so badly, that he will probably ignore my advice, and instead of starting his Ernst and Young internship Monday - put it off cuz they gave him the option to do so, even though the end date is the same and it will cost him two weeks lost wages ($2k ) and invaluable experience because he wants to be at the MAC - not just hoping to be able to see it on TV back east. He will probably storm the court if there is a way to do it.



I guess there are just some things you just can't control.

Wait - ask again after we see who wins and loses this week. SDSU could be #1 when we play them if enough very unlikely magic happens. If they are the only undefeated team when we play them and if we win!!!!!!! Storm the court

How embarassing. I hope we never storm the field for beating sdsu in any sport at any time. A win is always expected. no reason to storm the field.



rare exception. its close all game. we are down by two and jimmer nails a three from the free throw line on the other side of the court. then maybe, just in excitement, not because of the opponent. :)

Let's hope that rose has the players off the court and out of the way. How terrible would it be to have jimmer hurt in a BYU storming court celebration.

Can't tell if your last comment was TIC, but if I'm rose I eliminate the opportunity. Let the fans have their celebration on the hardwood, let the players celebrate in the locker room.

Wow, I'm surprised at how many are opposed to the fans storming the court. Interesting. I'd do it if everyone else I saw there doing it, but I'm too much of a chicken to be one of the ring leaders. I've only stormed LES once or twice in all the times I've been there.



I think if SDSU is a top 5 program and we beat them (whether they or we are favored), I don't see it being dishonorable to storm the court. But as Kitic noted, BYU venues appear to be designed against rushing fields and storming courts. It would take the whole group of students to do that as only the chairs on the floor have readily access and the only thing those folks seem concerned about is storming the halftime snack venue that comes with their tickets.

When my high school team won a state championship in basketball on a full court shot, I was one of 2 people that stormed the court. I couldn't believe that no one else did.



I'm not against storming, I was just pointing out that Rose needs to get the players out of harms way. If cougar fan X breaks his leg out there I'm fine with it, but not if jimmer gets hurt.

Does anyone ever remember BYU storming the MC court after a win? I don't over the last decade. I think on one of the games where we won the MWC championship and they had a ceremony where we got our trophy and they cut down the net that there were fans on the floor, but I'm not certain. I admit to being one of the types that is hellbent on finding the exit and getting out of the traffic to listen to the KSL game wrapup and interviews. It seems like many fans follow that, so i guess it would have to be the students if anyone. I don't see it happening unless like someone said that Jimmer or someone hit a trey with a second or so in the game and we won by a point and people just spontaneously went wild.
