I found this site about two years ago. It's a nice place to check all rankings all at once. It also has links to each ranking individually. Take note where BYU is in relation to SDSU. ;) (this was before the unlv game though)

At this point we have pretty gaudy numbers. The past few years we've had impressive specs like these but not enough wins on the road against top teams. That game @ SDSU could very well mean a +/- 2 seed swing in March.

Never thought I'd see more MWC teams than ACC teams in the top ten.

Forget top ten, who would think you'd only see ONE ACC team in the top 25?

Also, if you click on BYU, it brings up a schedule for the whole year which has an expected win percentage of each game left. It gives a 67% chance against SDSU at home, while 37% at their place.

some of you guys will skewer me for this, or challenge my "fan-hood", but both teams are over-rated.

By the time BYU meets SDSU I expect them to be #6 vs #7. Or something with both in single-digits. Good on for both teams. But any team with big men will beat us up, ala UCLA.

Shame on you...I don't know how you can live with yourself for thinking such a thing.

I agree, any team with a presence inside is going to give BYU or SDSU fits. In the mean time, though, it's in our best interest to get ranked as high as possible, whether we deserve it or not.

Ideally, a higher ranking at the end of the season will land us a higher seed. We end up a 2 or 3 seed and we're looking at a pretty good shot at a Sweet 16 run.

Okay Fan-hood taken away.

I don't see how you can say BYU is over rated when it has such a great RPI? Every team has it's weakness and BYU's for years has been it's big men. With a healthy Jimmer there is no way BYU is over rated. Remember last year for most of the conference play he was playing with mono so with Jimmer at the top of his game they are very very good.

It's tough to say who's overrated in hoops because they play so many games against such a variety of opponents. Purdue and Minnesota looked pathetic to me tonight--neither team can shoot and most of it was one v one bball. Does that make them both overrated? I don't know.

Every team has weaknesses--heck the Dukies went down to a subpar FSU yesterday. The thing is all these teams are going down on the road. However, SDSU and BYU are both road-tested so in some sense we deserve to be where we're at because we risked non-con road losses. Luckily rankings don't have any bearing at the end of the season so none of this matters too much.
