This is the first of a regular series of podcasts and we ask you be patient with us as we work out a few of the kinks, but we would love to hear your feedback.

Great job you guys. You all did really well, can't wait for more.

Any decent sport commenting program I have ever listened to had some descent music at the beginning and at the end and where are the older, way more mature commentators, you know, like people over 50, you know, wise people like me.

Are you going to do one on FB signing day? There was one on Youtube a few years ago.

We haven't decided on the next one, but I imagine we'll have one between now and signing day and then definitely have one shortly following signing day.

I enjoyed the podcast and I hope that you can discuss more things in the future.



Specifically BYU NCAA chances once we get closer.

I enjoyed listening. Your reminiscing about what made you Cougar fans made me remember my moment. I was bound to be a fan anyway, because my father used to sit listening to KSL on a static-filled radio from Colorado as players like Kresimir Cosic (sp?) were tearing up the league. Basketball was king, and the football team was an afterthought.



I went to BYU as an athlete (diver on the swim team), so I had additional sports to cheer for as well, but my moment for football came on a wintery day in a half-empty stadium when BYU played New Mexico. Lavelle Edwards had installed a new passing oriented offense, and it was fun to watch. BYU football was starting to become relevant. He had a favorite receiver - Jay Miller. They connected for 22 passes in that single game, at the time an NCAA record (still a BYU record). I was hooked. :)

So yes we have our own podcast studios, but it's mobile and consists of a laptop and a cheap mic.

I like things real. Voices are a step in the right direction - real people - not just secret code names. Video would be even better. You all sounded pretty good - but that is great for radio - but do u look good - tv or Internet good. Challenging job to be in charge and yet part of the site as a participant.



Anyway, you keep taking steps to improve your site and that does make a difference.



I still think this site would mature and be more professional if less - well - zero bagging on MWC, MTN, CB, BYU opponents, less homer. ESPN doesn't bag on NBC, etc. Just be better than the others and enjoy being better. But then I keep getting reminded that this is a fan site - and Hawk in his tag admits being blue goggled.



Anyway, hopefully this site will encourage diversity and respectful debate and become much more than a good ole boy club of people with nearly identical views.

The fandom stories did provide connection points for me.



I got hooked on BYU basketball first while attending BYU - which was a change because before that I grew up favoring Utah, Jack Gardner, Jerry Chambers, the Utes final 4 run with Texas Western (UTEP) and Kentucky iirc. BYU won the NIT that year - 1966 iirc. I was happy for BYU too. I am a local boy and take pride in all things Utah. Yes - I even like to see USU, UVU, SUU, Dixie, Snow, CEU, etc do well. I left out LDS Biz College, Westminster, Steven's Henager - all of them. I take pride in everything Utah. I was accepted to U of Utah and hadn't even considered applying to BYU - didn't hate BYU, enjoyed their success too.



But back then my rough and tough friends thought BYU was for pansies and some of them would chant BYU - where the girls are girls - and the boys are too. I was inactive and a rebel.



But the Lord worked in mysterious ways and I ended up at BYU instead of Utah. I wasn't able to attend football games due to working on Sarurdays and still liked the Utes from their Liberty Bowl days - Ray Nagel 1964 or so iirc.



Then came Kresimir Cosic. I was hooked. Attended every game I could. I had a schoolmate on the basketball team as well. Hooked ever since. Had a friend on the football team too. A wide receiver. We went to Utah together and got our MBAs. Then, as Lavell got things going, I got hooked on BYU football. I was already hooked but Jim McMahon sealed the deal his junior season. I lived in Chicago when he won the super bowl.



I do not hate Utah - don't see the need. But I take BYU over Utah every time in every sport for the last 40 years.

PS - I am very active in the Church now but that came years later after crowding into small rooms at stake centers as a totally inactive member watching BYU games. That fellowshipping over a 26 year period contributed greatly to my reactivation in the end.

I appreciate your reply bib, however, there is a distinction between us not bagging on the MWC, Utah, etc.



This is a fan site, it's also literally the best fansite for Cougars on the internet. It is getting better all the time too. I personally don't talk about other fan sites on the internet, I don't need too, they aren't as good as this one. Much like ESPN doesn't need to talk about CBS Sports, they are better. However, they do bag on the MWC and other conferences when they feel they are weak.



As for not hating Utah, I'm sure that's a function of you not living in Utah. I contend that no true BYU fan can live in Utah without running into enough hatred and bias that you can't help but not like the Utes.
