Why is the NCAA obsessed with football celebration

As you are probably aware the NCAA will negate TDs for celebrating plus a penelty for the 2011 season. Consistancy is not healthy within the NCAA rules committee.

Because the NCAA is a giant bureaucracy designed to redistribute from people who produce something of value to people who do not and is majority owned by the government (aka socialist).



I really liked the parts about how the non-revenue (read women's) sports are exempt from celebration penalties.



Oh and the NCAA is lame.

This rule change has potential to let the refs control the outcome of games more than they already do. There is no reason a touchdown should be called back because a guy gets excited and pumps his fist in the air after breaking into the open field. He hasn't gained an advantage over tha other team and isn't taunting them. The teams should determine the outcome of the games, not the refs. The refs should keep the teams from gaining an illegal advantage. This celebration penalty moves the refs from policing to playing in the game.
