Hiring New QB Coach

After it was announced today that Doman was the new Off. Coord. & Poppinga was the new LB Coach. A Q&A was held. To me, the most interesting comment was from Doman about hiring Assistants - the QB Coach.



Doman said: "He mentioned that the hiring of his offensive assistants will be a head-coaching decision. He’ll certainly counsel with Mendenhall on those decisions, but said that they haven’t traveled that far yet."



So - Bronco will decide if there is a QB Coach, and who the QB Coach will be. Doman will have input, but Bronco pulls the trigger. Good insight.



This is really exciting stuff - the Staff is shaping up nicely.

I did not hear the Presser - was a timetable mentioned for finalizing the staff? If they are hoping someone else (Higgins for example) quits before pulling the trigger, that could be a long wait. Anae went quickly. Higgins does not have the same caliber resume - other than Austin Collie, I don't recall him developing any other nationally renowned receivers.

hasnt Steve Spurrier been both qb coach and head coach or in earlier days OC and qb coach?

I have no doubts about his ability to do both very well and this offense thrives!
