JC transfer Joe Sampson didn't make it academically per GurneyTBS

Well this sucks. Was looking forward to seeing him play

Amazing... he didn't even play ball this fall wtf was he doing with his time? I wonder if he can fix that in the spring and still be with us next fall or in the future.

Sounds like a good pac-12 player, utah it is.

I'm glad we didn't lose him because of a coaching change. That's what I was really expecting to read.

Way not good. Appeared to be a real talent. I was excited to see him suit up & make his presence felt.

That would be nice and they do provide tutors if he wants to work at it. He probably needs a certain number of units - but winter, spring, summer, independent study. The nice thing about independent study is the ability to retake mid-terms one time or to resubmit some assignments. Anyway - I hope for the best as we never have too much depth in this space.

Lets keep our fingers crossed. He's got 7-8 months to get things turned around. We need this guy

I wouldn't get your hopes up. If he can't get the grades when he is not even playing football at a junior college, i highly doubt he is going to get the grades at byu. my guess is comer committed to us even without a scholarship because byu knew this was coming.

The kid has 2 years to play 2, so even if he makes it for summer, he will be behind where he could have been with some spring ball. Which means he plays sparingly, if at all in 2011. The kid is Logan's cousin, so perhaps BL can get his head on right. I do not expect to see him in Provo now.



And by the way, if he did not qualify, means he is not enrolling ANYWHERE for winter, except a JC.

Any word if Sampson is even going to try and make it back for fall???
