Unlv roll call

Just wanted to get a feel for who's going to the game on Wednesday? I will be there, still trying to decide whether or not to take my 10 year old son or not. It has been a pretty rough environment for kids in the past. On the other hand, he doesn't go to public school, so attending the unlv games usually expands his vocabulary a bit. He also gets to see firsthand why we don't cheer for the hometown team (besides the fact we are BYU fans before all else).



Would love to hear if anyone on here plans to attend.

Wish I was going. I went a few years ago and had no problem, course I wasn't wearing any BYU clothing (on a business trip) and the only way you could spot my friend and I out of the crowd was that we were sober.

We're probably going to have to rely on the local fans as a mid-week game is difficult for those in the SLC/Provo area, especially with as weird as the weather has been lately. I hope those that can will go. I'm looking forward to making it down there for the tounament in March for my last UNLV/MWC BB tournament.

Poor scheduling. Monday night would have been perfect. My two sons just drove through Las Vegas Monday on the way back to BYU where classes started today. I am actually praying that they don't drive back to Vegas, miss classes, and get behind. The oldest could pull it off, but the freshman is already homework challenged due to the many distractions hanging out by Helaman Halls late at night. Had to give him 2 wake-up calls - inadvertently woke him up when calling at 11:00 and again at 12:00 to follow up on a registration question. Don't know if he ever made it to his 12:30 class. I smell an all-nighter coming on because there is a really cute high school senior daughter of a family friend that he likes to visit whenever he has an excuse to go to Las Vegas.

No, it's great scheduling. Mid-week before the semester for UNLV starts. No bye for either team the weekend before. BYU is catching a few breaks before the game for a change against UNLV. Hopefully they catch a few during the game.

I think the timing is great. I haven't heard a lot of hype about this game around town. I think the season hasn't yet caught on for the local fans So a lot may be missing tonight. BYU could come in and steal this one. As for going in without showing my BYU gear, I can't do it. I plan on wearing BYU colors from the parking lot to my seats and everywhere in between. If I run in to any trouble I'll be sure to get pictures.

Okay, now that makes sense when Wrubell tweeted last week that there were 3K tickets still available for this game. I didn't understand that, but school being still out would affect the number of UNLV fans present. Here's hoping the majority of them are from out of town.

I used to love going to the UNLV games as a kids during the great Tarkanian years. The T&M can be a lot of fun. Too bad it's gone downhill with the quality of fans, especially with BYU games. But then again, since they elected a former mob lawyer for the mayor, the whole town's gone downhill.



Still, I'm really REALLY going to miss these BYU-UNLV basketball games. Lots of fun. Even with the elbow-swinging.
