Or are people missing?



I haven't seen a post from Mars or Italics in like several weeks.Did they go to CougarCorner anonymous and/or give up the ghost?

One was given a temporary timeout and the other one more permanent. The one with the temporary ban is more than welcome back now but appears to not want to comeback at the moment and is posting occasionally at the old website. Hawkwing and Snoscythe do a great job moderating and making this a great site for those that care.

Moderating is a tough job and usually a thankless one.



2011 should be a lot of fun for fans and hopefully a little easier for the moderators due to success of the team = less angst in the fan base.

One is "temporary" and the other is "more permanent"? What does "more permanent" mean? Is that a longer temporary or is it permanent?

Permanent.

Too bad, I liked both of their contributions at times. But they both reminded me of nitroglycerin---cool in some ways, but don't agitate or things go to crud pretty quickly.

I understand the need to keep things under control, but those two are some of the oldest and most knowledgeable posters on the site. I mean, do you really want to increase the relative times urroner's face comes into view?

The biggest thing that anyone can take away from this is that there are rules/guidelines/etiquette that must be adhered. No one is immune. Another thing to know is that a lot of behind the scenes happen before anyone gets a "vacation". There are plenty of warnings issued, PM's sent and plenty of communication. Though the message forum as a whole may be surprised that someone is no longer present the ones that are missing have had multiple communications indicating a change in attitude or posting is needed or else the hammer will come down.



As an aside, I would argue your statement of either one being the "most knowledgeable". However, I did enjoy what both of them could bring to the discussions.

BTW, I hope they both come back, I've always enjoyed most of their posts that I have read.

I guess I didn't pay enough attention to what they were doing. Mars I liked pretty well. Italics was ok, but knowledgeable would not be an honored title I would bestow upon him. Not by any stretch.

I just thought I'd point out that Mars is often the one to break news on the site. Not that he had the insider sources that other posters do, but he would spend time finding news from the oddest corners and re-posting them here. Stuff no one else has bothered to do.



He was also particularly useful with regards to recruits and maintained more than one of the 'pegged' threads regarding updated recruit news that has since gone silent.



Sure he was opinionated as was italics, but who isn't?
