Better than that.

1. You have to take a class and be issued a permit to own a flashlight.

2. Your flashlight must be registered.

3. You must have a locking safe to secure your flashlight.

4. The local paper will publish your name and address - as a flashlight owner. Thousands of faceless and anonymous "unknowns" have a right to know who owns a flashlight.

5. You can't get batteries for your flashlight - Homeland Security is buying them all up.

You all don't need to worry. Canadians can have all the flashlights they want. In fact, I bet the administration is probably preparing to send them a bunch.

Kind of like how the Syrian rebels deserve weapons, but Americans don't.

I do not agree with Obama's thinking, because a lot of our flashlight comes in handy. Easily navigate through the dark flashlight can be. There are also many other benefits.
