This is what Jake Locker passed up 35 million guaranteed for? 0-7 passing in his final college game?



Wasn't this supposed to be the year that Sarkisian turns Locker into John Elway?



Washington football is garbage; and nothing thus far has convinced me that Sark can coach but he certainly can blow smoke up the butts of recruits and his players.

Two years ago UW went 0-12. Now they're about to finish with a winning record and win a bowl game. I think it's a little early to say sark can't coach.

I'll say it again (now that UW is well in control of this awful game), Sark can't coach.... and whatever cache he supposedly had in working with USC Qbs has all gone up in smoke with Locker.



That being said, he can recruit and I'm sick that we wont' have Jamora the next few years.

JMHO, I think Locker is simply overrated as a QB. We'll see if UW continues to improve under sark once Locker is gone.

WOW, just WOW. UW takes down Nebraska.



I had that like as one of my locks of all bowl games that Nebraska would win again. I am so out of our CC bowl mania competition now.



But it's nice that BYU beat the team that beat Neb. Congrats to Sark.

The announcers, idiots that they are, praised Locker - especially re game mgmt. Why all the hate? Locker was decent, but over-rated and Sark didn't ruin him. Amazing how coached look great when they have a Heisman capable QB and look less great when they don't.



Congratulations to UW for beating a team that was supposed to kill them. And, yes, Jamora was a big factor.



For certain kids, the PAC 10 is going to trump the MWC every time. We will have to see if Independence positions BYU better for future recruiting battles for prestige oriented players.



I don't quite hate Nebraska, but this was sweet. Maybe I do hate Nebraska - it seems that they were one of the teams that turned down a chance to play us in 1984 or so but were critical of our NC schedule.

Locker is not a decent QB, he's a decent RB.



Ask Locker about how light his wallet is after this season compared to if he had declared for the draft last year then tell me if Sark did him any favors. Good chance that Locker lost 20 million+ and did not improve as a QB one iota this year, which is what Sark promised him he'd do if he returned.



Did Locker improve from last year to this year? Did Locker improve at all under Sark? If you can answer yes to those questions I'm all ears...



And how can you possibly talk about 1984 and discuss hate for Nebraska, when the team playing them is UW and the program that has attempted to discredit our NC since then. Behind Utah and Notre Dame, there isn't a program or fans that I hate more than UW...

We played UW un 1985 and kicked their ass so that started to wear down the hatred right away. Then Locker tossed that ball up in the air a couple of years ago and although I think BYU would have won anyway, it gave me a soft spot in my heart for the kid. Then when we beat UW this year, Locker and all - well the fact that Nebraska will never respect us with a home and away like UW did - I have a little more venom left for Nebraska.



Add to that the fact that I just like the PAC 10 better than I like anything east of Denver - sorry ok I have relatives in KC so draw a circle around your home town and Chicago where I lived twice, my daughter was born, and my son was conceived - but anything else east of Denver and I am rooting for the west.



Now in full disclosure, my best friend's son was listed in one publication as a key to UW having a better result bs Nebraska than last time - cuz ge was out last time they played. Better play by locker was the other key. Locker did play better and the defense rose up and shined.



The announcers certainly thought Locker improved since September.



But Craig - we can't say Sark failed Locker and say Licksr isn't a QB on the same thread. Perhaps Locker did improve. First winning season. First Biwl game - the reason he came back this year.



And Bonus - a Bowl win.



I agree it cost Locker a lot of money. He does not care. He is not driven by money and will have plenty of money. I know someone that knows him very well. Locker is a great kid and a great role model. He respects everyone and works hard.



Locker is not a very accurate passer. No need to hate him, Sark, or UW for that. Now if we are really just bitter about Jamira and smoke and butts. Who is blowing what where? Jamora is a true freshman that just started in the Holiday Bowl and was key in a win over a team that was supposed to kill his team. Not bad. We can't hate everyone that goes elsewhere.



BTW - if willing to live HC, I think Schwenke, Jamora, and several Teos would gave been far better off at BYU as would Langi. I am talking about life - not just football. But some kids just don't get it at that age.

Well - when you have been around longer you naturally meet more people - simple math there. In this case - I assume you are asking how I know Jake Locker.



Well - if you read carefully, and if you really want to know. I do not know Jake Locker personally, although I have met him. I said I know someone who knows him very well personally.



Now if you are still following and want to know - and I am repeating myself as I stated it earlier and often - my best friend's son is a starter for UW. He knows Jake very well. He speaks very highly of Jake Locker. BTW - have you seen Jake Locker doing much chest thumping, excuse making, taunting, criticising, on tv? Have you seen or heard of any on or off the field behavior other than incomplete passes that would embarrass UW? I had lunch with my friend's son last week and I asked him about Jake Locker. The players on UW love and respect Jake Locker. Have you heard anything different?



There are other future NFL players on that team that I would not speak of with such high praise of character - I won't name names. Jake is a great kid, from a small town, who played for the home state team, gave it all he had, played inured - even more than was known by the public, and took his alma mater to it's first bowl game and winning season in a very long time and beat Nebraska against all odds. He will be remembered by his teammates for that and that is what he stayed for.



He could have been the #1 pick by leaving early - kind of like the guy at Oklahoma - Sam Bradford. He had nothing to gain financially by staying - only risks to take and a price to pay. He stayed anyway. It was not a financial decision.



Why do I need to apologize for respecting him for doing that. Sheesh - John Walsh should have stayed too. That is always my advice. FInish your education. Finish your legacy. Money ain't everything. I have made a lot of it. It ain't everything.



Now if you want to know how I know anyone else I have claimed to have met or known - PM me. If you want to broaden your own circle of contacts - move frequently - live in the Wards people tend to visit when in town or just get lucky. I was in the same ward in Mission Viejo, California as the sister of Charlene Wells-Hawkes for instance. And voila - you get to meet famous visitors including her GA father. It just happens. If you move to Hawaii - go for Manoa, Makiki, or Kahala Wards if you want to meet the most visitors - that covers WaiKiki, Diamond Head, and Kahala where most of said visitors will come to Church.



In fairness, I never planned it that way. It just happened that way. But I noticed the pattern as I lived in Waikiki in two different wards until I bought my house near Kahala. I had no idea what any of this menat back then - I do now.



But So Cal - Orange County, and LA County, and Ventura County - lots of LDS people and lots of big time high school football.



Then get marrried and if you are lucky you will have some kids and you will get more relatives. That is kind of how it worked for me.



I have about 400 employees and negotiate contracts with nearly every large technology company you have heard of. I met several billionaires that way - and fun stuff like Jimmy Carter (I am Republican so that took some of the fun out of that one), and MIke Ditka - still got the autographed ball.



And jump in the car and go to the firesides when Bronco, Robert Anae, and key players come to town. They are great. Go to the roast next time Lavell or Bronco gets roasted. I met Steve Young, and all of the other QB factory icons at that time except my beloved Jim McMahon who was not there. Live in Chicago at just the right time and you can watch McMahon win a super bowl right before your very eyes.



Buy a California ranch on 20 acres, leave it vacant most of the time, and members of your old ward will occasionally ask if they can use the 6800 sqft ranch house for a sweet 16 party - including an NFL player BYU alum.



Hire enough people, and an amazing recruit will later end up as a direct report to BIll Gates - it happens.



I have fired two different people who on separate occasions won the California lottery. I can't explain how I hit that jackpot twice.



Go to the breakfasts before road games - gotta go to the road games obviously, I met Lavell that way several times before he started visting my ward to visit his close friend.



But don't read too much into any of this. Lavell Edwards, Jimmy Carter, BIll Gates, and all the others I have mentioned by name or alluded to in this post have one thing in common. None of them call me daily, send me Christmas Cards, or have me over for dinner.



But if there is someone you want to know how I know or how well I know or how I got to know them - PM me. It is all in the numbers of years and the circles I travel. I am not a particularly social person and do not seek these people out. It just happens.

I don't understand what you are trying to imply here. There is not a single comment on this thread about anyone hating Jamora, you are throwing out the hate card pretty liberal here. Craig made a comment on how good he thinks Jamora is and disappointed he isn't at BYU.



If that is the definition of hate, than I do hate a lot of people.

Sark cost Locker exactly $0. Locker is the one that made the decision to stay at WA not Sark. No one forced him to stay. No matter what Sark said to Locker, it was ultimately Lockers decision to stay or go. Remember the fit that Pete Carol threw in the media when Sanchez decided to go pro? Did that change Sanchez's mind?



Also, I don't understand your hate for Sark Craig, I have never seen Sark show anything but respect for BYU and what BYU did for his career. Frankly, I think he has done a pretty good job at WA. I'm pretty sure that a 6-6 BYU team wouldn't take down a powerhouse like Nebraska in its first bowl game in however many years it was that WA didn't go to a bowl. In fact, we got beat by a worse CAL team in our first bowl game under Bronco. That says to me that Sark did a pretty good job coaching up his team this year. (No disrespect to Bronco, I think he is the better coach) I just don't understand the hate going on here.

If you were trying to rebuild a program, would you want to play BYU with the talent pool that we have right now? Neither would I.

I'm not sure Locker is a better passer than Riley. He may have a stronger arm, but Locker has some of the worst accuracy of any 4-year starter.
