Anae officiall gone?

I just saw on the twitter feed panel that it appears Anae is officially done at BYU, as reported by "espn700shep". Anyone have official news about this or any other coaching news? It seems the longer Bronco waits, the more antsy recruits are getting.

I read over on the other forum (aka - cougarboard) that Anae resigned this morning and is taking another job elsewhere, perhaps Maryland. A Texas Tech Radio guy is reporting it and stated he spoke with someone close to the situation. Interesting. I would not be surprised. If Anae is gone, and I think it is a foregone conclusion that he is, the good luck to him. I think he did a lot to reestablish BYU's offense and give us some stability. I hope he does well elsewhere. At the same time, I am excited about the future. Bring on Doman!!

He has resigned.

It is also highly possible that Anae was the catalyst for all of the moves Bronco has made. Leach to Maryland has been rumored about for several weeks now. Isn't it possible that Leach approached his former OL coach, now with OC experience, to come join him at Maryland. Then Anae went to Bronco and said that he is intrigued at the prospect of rejoining Leach if he lands at Maryland. So Bronco gave his blessing on the move and this is turning into a win-win for all involved?

Congrats to Anae. I agree he will do well wherever he goes. He has done very well for BYU. Grateful to have had him. Excited to move forward without him. One thing is for sure, our tight ends have done very well under him.

I also congratulate Robert for all that he's done for BYU Football as a player and a coach. I wish him all the best in his next position.

Maryland and Leach is a good place for him; he lands on his feet and got a great education running a similar offense and will be forced by Leach to be less rigid.



It's nice to have some momentum on this... now there will be excitement for the impending hire(s) and less doom and gloom over predicted firings.



I also like the idea that Anae and Leach will be far far away on the east coast; far from Hawaii and far from LDS recruits. Leach has been willing to add LDS players to his team, even cherry pick BYU guys, and I would assume that he uses Anae to get that done, even if Anae isn't much of a recruiter on his own.

anybody else wondering about what marcus matthews and richard wilson's tweets about 'best alarm ever' and 'bearer of good news' is referencing? I wouldn't be surprised if it was about this.

My gratitude to Robert Anae as well. I wish this whole situation didn't end as it did and there wouldn't have been any situation where changes were probably insinuated without RA being the one to initiate this change, but the end result seems to be what we needed. I remember the latter Chow years and I was in the same boat wanting a change of scenery because things had just gotten stale. I've never regretted that he left at it was a win/win result. I hope this is as well, I'm just sad that we will lose his son.

What? I have only heard the opposite that most expect Doman was likely to be the new OC. I've read over at TBS this morning someone saying they had heard he had other offers, but most expect him to stay on. We don't want to lose him.

This recent turmoil has seemingly brought back out the Uteness of Jay Drew who has been practically giddy in reporting bad things about whats going on.

Crowton has had very little success with guys we want. He can have the others if it makes him feel better at least the Pukes won't get them then.

I thought the same thing. It's no secret that current and former players, coaches, staff and/or administrators don't like or respect him.

Catalysts make things easier, right, but aren't necessary? This makes things ten times easier, but Bronco would've let him go (aka not rehire him) regardless of an Anae resignation. Of this I am perfectly certain.

Its obvious that this is exactly what he is referring to.
