Ryan Comer Safety Commits

On Scout.com they have posted that Ryan Comer, 6' 2", 205 lb. Safety from Snow College has committed to BYU as a Preferred Walk-on. This kid is good & had other Div. 1 schools offering him scholarships - which he turned down. The commit occurred last night (Wed., 12/22).

A couple of interesting things from this, this kid is a lot like Rich, lots of heart in his body. Will definitely push the defense to be better. Glad to see him coming aboard, a lot of teams will miss not offering him a scholarship.

Sounds like another solid recruit by Bronco. Can't wait to see what he can do on the field.

I'm very excited for this commit. Just when I thought: "How do we ever replace Andrew Rich?" Bronco comes up with another solid recruit to fill the gap. Big time commit!

It took Bronco like 5 years to replace Aaron francisco with Andrew Rich, and we never saw it coming. I think we are in a much better position to replace Rich in 2011 than we were when we had to replace Francisco. Glad to have Joe Sampson coming in, DeQuan Everett, J'Ray Galieal, Travis Uale and Comer and others there to try to play safety for us. That safety spot is crucial for us for many reasons. Just need 1 guy to own it. We have a nice group of guys to choose from.

I like the idea of having athlete back there that can play both spots and some can even play corner; also we have a lot of guys that can kick butt on special teams.



Depth is good and great teams have this on a regular basis.

i like jray alot. he is someone people don't talk about much. guy has a lot of heart.

No, Ryan I believe is Cameron's cousin and was supposed to walk on from snow

Cameron is a redshirt freshman from springville, he's a corner. Ryan is a safety from snow college. He transferred in for the winter semester so he could he part of spring ball. However he transferred to SUU following spring ball. I think he saw the competition at safety and bailed.
