Collie Comes Back With A Vengeance!

Collie has 8 receptions for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns so far in the first half. Manning has been missing him.

And Collie gets hit to the helmet to hit once again. He's hurt again. Should have been flagged.

Wasn't helmet to helmet. Collie's head was jacked back by Smith's arm and it was a legit play.



Collie is just extremely fragile with all the injuries he is taking above the shoulders.



Bummer deal on both ends.



Even Smith was by Collie's side the whole time until Collie got up and walked off.

It was a clean play, just unfortunate that Collie got wrenched by the two defenders. Another concussion could end his season this year. Too bad, he really does make a huge difference for Indy's offense.

wow. Is it maybe time to start considering the fact that Manning is playing a role in this? I know it's a brutal sport, but as a quarterback you have GOT to keep your receivers safe. Sounds like Manning is kind of "hanging him out to dry."

In no way am I implying that he's doing it on purpose. Maybe I'm just implying that he's sort of putting Collie in positions with his throws where he's extremely vulnerable to receive blindside hits.

Collie did come back to stand on the sideline in street clothes which is a good sign. Collie will sit out the remainder of the season is my guess.

Did you see Mannings face? He seriously looked like he was about to cry. I think he knew that it was his fault.

No matter where Collie is... There will always be two sets of eyes on him. Its not Manning. Collie will always be in these situations. Until the Wayne, Garcon, or Clark can become clutch like Collie.



I'm shocked its another concussion. It looked more like it was his neck more than anything.

you gotta also be wondering if Austin is gonna start getting some pressure from Mrs. Collie to call it quits...

If Collie plays again after this year, I will be surprised. At this point, you seriously have to consider the science and risk AC would take if he kept playing. Brain injuries should not be trifled with, and once you get them, they are easier to get. Ask Steve Young. At some point, it might be better to walk away, or risk major problems in the next 15 years.

This makes me heart sick. It's easy to be a huge Austin Collie fan - top talent & super guy. I hope to see him play again - but - no more injuries. Perhaps some new fangled helmet could help him. Extra padding or something. Who knows.

He's had 2 official concussions this year and left 1 game not to return with "concussion-like" symptoms

With Clark out the Colt's offense revolves around Collie. They are not the same without him. In both games that he got concussions in the offense was clicking before he went out. After the injury both games I don't believe the Colts scored another TD the rest of the game. The weeks without Collie the offense looks very limited. I think that Collie sits out until the playoffs at a minimum, maybe for the rest of the season. Getting Clark back next season will help because he was usually the one that Manning threw that seem pass to that Collie keeps getting hurt on.

Man, this is a real bummer. Why can't this guy catch a break? He catches everything else!

Speaking of Collie I just learned that him and his wife had a little boy last week. Congratulations to the Collies!!

I hope he can remember it!

I think the NFL is going to come up with some black & white guidelines in the next year or two. First concussion and you don't play for a month, second two months, etc. Or something like that.



I think we're also going to see the way defenders are allowed to hit change as well. I think we're going to move towards more tackling emphasis and less hitting emphasis. Hits to the head regardless of intent/circumstances will be penalized more consistently. Players are going to have get their bodies in control so they react to last second changes in the offensive player they're attempting to tackle.
