Bowl is going to look like a high school game

29,504 seats still available. That means there is only about 10k people who have purchased tickets so far given capacity of the stadium. that is pathetic.

The 29,000 seats left was of a few days ago. Is there any new numbers released that may have boosted that attendance?

Here is the money quote.

"About 30,000 people have purchased tickets for the fifth annual New Mexico Bowl on Saturday between BYU and UTEP. If ticket sales exceed 34,000 over the next few days, it will be the Bowl’s biggest year to date."

As of Wednesday night, the New Mexico Bowl had sold about 10,000 tickets for this weekend's game between BYU and UTEP.

Looks like there is disagreement. I am going to go with the "New Mexico Bowl media relations director RaeAnn McKernan" over the local tv station.

I suspect it get close to 40K. Not huge, but not bad. BYU is not travelling great for the game, but neither is UTEP. This game is closer for UTEP than the LV Bowl is for us.

Didn't read the article, but is it possible that the bowl has sold 10k tickets, and the respective schools have each sold about 10k as well, bringing it to a total of 30k?

New Mexico Bowl publicity director RaeAnn McKernan said a total of 29,504 tickets are still out, including unsold tickets issued to the universities. UTEP received an allotment of 5,900 tickets so it has around 2,000 left that are part of that 29,504 number. University Stadium seats 39,244.

So as of last night according to that source 10k had been bought total including those that have been sold of the school allotments.



This contradicts though if you go the website and try and buy tickets by the section. If you do that there are only about 6k seats available to buy not including those allotments that have been given to the schools. so assuming the schools sell all about a few thousand in their allotments then you are probably around 30k just as the local news station said.
