How Important is the Humanitarian Bowl to BYU

I see the game a launching pad into next season and a chance to see the future of BYU football under the leadership of 'Shake and Bake' Jake.



I believe that the experience from the UT game will allow him to take his game to the next level. His recent quote seems to corroborate this:



"“There’s not a lot more pressure I could face other than in a rivalry game against Utah...I feel confident that I am prepared for the harshest situations, and our coaching staff has done a real good job of preparing me and getting me better.”

NM Bowl is in Jessica Albaquerque. Humanitarian Bowl is in boise.



Important? Eh, just win. I'd call spring, summer and fall camp more vital than a game vs. UTEP.

Teh bowl does nothing for BYU. The temperatures have been below freezing the past few years and as much as I love my team, STAY AWAY FROM BOISE DURING BOWL SEASON.



And I live in Boise.

Geez I feel like a Yewt - my bad. Thanks for not hassling me about my mistake on the Bowl name. Getting back to the thread - this will also be an audition for Doman to see how well prepared Heaps is to lead the team to victory.

The high in ALB Saturday is supposed to be 52, partly cloudy, which is great football weather. In Provo Sat. it's supposed to be 44 with snow showers.



Eight or so more practices and a game against a mid-quality team sounds good to me. I'll probably watch it at JCW's.

My son tells me the UCLA / BYU basketball game overlaps the New Mexico game. If so, even though football clearly trumps basketball at BYU when we are all over here arguing about how Anae supposedly handled Heaps and we have a 10-0 and Top 20 basketball team to bash because some don't think the post guys are good enough. Anyway the Quest For Perfection lives on on BBall too.





I digress



So if my son is correct we will have to trust my daughter to TiVo the NM Bowl while we drive to and from Anaheim to watch BYU try to extend their streak. Hope Hartsock has recovered for that game. Same for Chris Collinsworth.



But back to the original post - when you are in Bowls like NM, Humanitarian, Emerald, SF, Feed the Hungry, etc you can't beat the guy up for getting confused - these are the Leftover Bowls hardly worth keeping track of unless you ate in one of them.
