Dirty play?

I missed the game, busy with family.



What's this "dirty" play I hear about from Perry head bunting and throwing an elbow?

Watching the replay it looks inadvertent to me but sure did a number on hartsock. For his efforts, he's rewarded with stitches and a concussion for finals week. I think he may be questionable for our game next week



If there was something dirty about the play it's that perry ignored hartsock on the ground and I don't think he made any effort to apologize or at least recognize he did something on accident. Maybe that's cause he did it on purpose

I agree that it appeared inadvertent. And I agree that he was an arse. Worse was the full-on shove to Emery when he was setting a pick up high--I think the guy fouled out on that one.



Arizona seemed a bit dirty; but I chalk it up to frustration. Not saying that's an excuse--only that I don't deem them a dirty team. They were down by almost 30 at points, and they were embarrassed :lol: 8) Jimmer seemed to be joking with them at times, though.

I read an AZ paper discussing how they play physical, and the coach himself said they were over playing physically due to frustration. Hence, dirty hits on purpose. Sadly, they only got caught 1 time.

I didn't see anything dirty by AZ in this game. The hit on Hartsock was not intentional.

Just a hard fought basketball game. I was relieved that the refs let them play. It was a fun game to watch, without a lot of NBA ticky-tachy fouls.



Thanks Arizona for giving BYU your best "shot". Now go home and think about how you could have used that energy to score points.

The initial head to Noah's chin seemed inadvertent, but the elbow that followed was unnecessary.

There was nothing dirty on the play, although it was a charge. Anyone who tells you otherwise has not played basketball.

Emery was given free shots and ball possession when a player chucked him during a free throw. That's dirty.

I just watched the replay again. I think I may change my mind. Perry was definitely leaning hard into Hartsock but that's just good basketball trying to draw foul shots. He also had no idea where Hartsock's face was and was basically just leading with his head.



The elbow coming down though.



And while realizing that in the speed of the game, it's impossible to tell what was in Perry's mind especially when you see it in slow motion, but the elbow coming down looked like it had some force to it. I wonder if he knew he'd get away with it and just pushed the arms down a little heavy. The reason I now think it was done on purpose was because of what i said earlier: he walked away from him, ignored him immediately after, and made no attempt to apologize or at least see if the guy was okay. I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, slomo looked a lot different. But so does everything when it's in slow mo.
