Hartsock?

Have any of the broadcasts given an update on his injury? He didn't look great from my perspective when he left.

BYU's Noah Hartsock has a probable concussion, and laceration of the mouth. Will not play in the second half.

It looked like someone landed on his head while he was down, but I didn't catch a replay. Is that what happened?

The driver led in with his head and then jumped up following with a forearm to the head. I think it was Perry.

This would be a 30 point game if he wasn't hurt by Bob Marley,



Also, Anderson is the worst player on that court tonight-coming from a JA supporter.

He has 3 points above his average, 1-2 on FT above his average. At least 3 RB and took a charge.

At least Hartsock has a week to get healthy.

Bob Marley...lol. At least he got booed everytime he went on the floor.



Emery didn't have a great night. Anderson played fantastic. Yes he wasn't a scoring machine, but he gave some decent fouls (not all) and was second on the team in blocks, steals, and rebounds. He played very solid defense and was active on the boards. One other stat they didn't track was how many fouls he drew. I saw Anderson get a bunch of fouls while he was on the floor.



And Given that Davies can't stay on the floor cause of foul trouble and Harstock was out, Anderson filled in VERY nicely.

I thought everyone played great. Tons of effort and heart put into that game. If BYU can find a way to play like that in LV, I think BYU finally gets that gorilla off their back.

The story of the night is how well others played in spite of little contribution from Hartsock, Davies and a poor shooting night from Emery. Our defense was great and everyone played a part in that.

Anderson is an awful basketball player. He should thank the Lord every night he has a scholarship.



I was impressed with Davies, he played really well, despite the fact he had two, maybe three, really bad fouls called against him, not sure what the refs were looking at. Were the Pac-10 refs? Davies plays too casual, however, and makes some dumb plays during the game, but if he will continue to improve, get more aggressive, he can make a big difference on this team.



I was also impressed with Kyle Collinsworth, this kid can play and will be a great player.



I watched the game on BYUTV, and was interested in a brief interview with Frank Layton who was in the stands. He had high praise for Fredette, said he was a certain first round, lottery pick. He said his biggest asset is his temperament, that he never lets anything bother him, never talks to the refs, just plays the game. It is good to see a player just play instead of all the yelling, jawing, chest pounding and glaring that many players engage in--big turn off for this fan.



I liked the way the whole team attacked the basket, and the boards, throughout the game.



The dumbest coaching move of the game was the AZ coach, down 24 has his players hold the ball for the last shot of the first half--no wonder BYU kills these guys every year.

He isn't very good, but he played great minutes for us last night and was a key component in the win. His defense and rebounding we very good. He blocked two shots, had six rebounds and even drew a charge or two.

I agree that Anderson played well. Give him a break. While not the best player, he played within himself. I noticed at least three times that he hustled to save a ball going out of bounds, and he saved it to one of our players. That won't show up on a stat sheet--not to mention the other stats that he did have (mentioned by others). I'm okay when players do their best, know their roles, and play within themselves.



Another person who seemed to play within himself was Magnusson. I was yelling at him to shoot the ball when he had a wide open 17-footer; he passed up two of those. Then he drained his 3. I think he was 1-1 for the night (too lazy to check the box score). I would like that he could drain a wide open 17-footer, but had he missed it, I know I would have been screaming at him that his job is not to shoot those (as I have at Anderson before)!



I was greatly impressed with the win. It was awesome. Looking for another big win on Saturday.

Great effort or not against Arizona... if we don't have Davies, Collinsworth, and Hartsock at 100% health for the NCAA's, we're screwed. Anderson is just not going to cut it against those teams.

And yet he cut it against Arizona and we didn't have those other guys.



Look, Italics, no one is claiming Anderson is a world beater or should be our starting center and playing 30 minutes a game and taking 15 shots. No said he was even good. All people have done is acknowledge that he played a good game, that he was a key contributor in our win and that he played above what he has been lately.



To not acknowledge that makes you a hack and no better than other poster who at times can't accept that their opinion might be wrong. You don't have to start predicting lottery pick status for Anderson, but a "nice game" probably wouldn't hurt you.

Anybody know the status of Hartsock? He really took a wicked head-butt to the chin. I saw some comments that he's going to have trouble with finals. Bad timing. I hope he can recover quickly. A concussion is nothing to take lightly.

My question is did anyone not have a hard time with finals at BYU?
