UNLV looked like UNLV of the past. Athletic and incapable of really shooting on the road. I'm calling it now. We'll beat them at home and they will have their best outside shooting night of the season against us. Then in the very next home game they will be ice cold from the outside.

UNLV in 2009-2010 played BYU shot 12-23 (.552) from 3. Their next home game they were 10-30 (.333).



In 2008-2009, they were 10-25 (.400) from 3. Their next home game 6-23 (.261).

In 2007-2008, they were 10-24 (.417) from 3. Their next home game 7-25 (.280).

Last year: .333

The year before: .301

And before: .300



From .333 to .276, that's a HUGE improvment. That's a 17% increase. Very impressive.

In fact this is supposed to be a rebuilding year for Louisville, I watched them several times last year and they had guys that did a lot of standing around watching as they would get beat, some very bad early losses to some weak teams and they never really got it together. Patino has his legal problems behind him now and it looks like he's running them like his teams of the past. They are winning on hustle and guts. I like this Louisville team, though we'll see how good they are when they get into conference play. Looks like UNLV got a bit out hussled. I hope BYU takes it to UNLV this year especially at their home town tourney.

ESPN was trying to make it sound like UCSB-UNLV/UCSB-SDSU would both be big games, and I thought they were trying to make something out of nothing. Apparently not.

Cougs strategy? Sit back, let them shoot, and grab the rebound.

Except they only miss their threes now to save them up for when they play the Cougars. Even their big guys will be hitting them when they play us. . . That is if they're not in jail.

Amen, stats mean nothing for UNLV. We're the only team they care about beating every year. We need to hit some people hard in that game and dominate the boards or else we could get blown away.

UNLV had 17 steals and forced 25 turnovers.
