This season will be a successs if...

So what will make this bball season a success in your book?



For me, the bare minimum for a successful season this year is to make it to the sweet 16. Elite 8 would be a phenomenal success.

Sweet 16 would be a very successful season. Winning 1 NCAA game could be very successful if coupled with an MWC Tourney win. Winning 30 games would be part of a very successful season.



Anything above 30 wins and the Sweet 16 would be the best season in BYU history.

Honestly, I'd trade that 2nd win in the tourney for a MWC Tournament Championship. I know it really doesn't mean much to the rest of the country, but I'd LOVE to go out having beaten the Rebel scum on their own court, after years of being robbed.



But if we can't get it, I just want to get to the 2nd week of the tourney.

Sweet 16. I don't think there's much debate on this. Moral victories don't mean anything now so it's all about the tourney. A nice consolation prize would be to win @ UNLV either during the season or in the MWC tourney, but it doesn't break our season. I would love to go to the tourney on a winning streak but we'll already have close to 30 wins by then so it doesn't matter too much.

The MWC crown is hardly a consolation prize this year. 3 teams in the top -25? Winning that schedule(ok so we're one of them), especially against the vehemence we find in Vegas, would be a success in my book.

I'm thinking tourney champion not regular season. Nobody ever seems to care who wins the regular season crown, but rather it's all about the conference tourney champion. Either way though, this is not the BCS, we have a chance to prove ourselves in a fair playoff system and that is where you must shine.

I certainly won't complain about winning the Las Vegas Invitational or beating the Rebels on their home court, but at the end of the day it's all about the NCAA tourney; that's what the season is played for. So, for me, the season is a success if we get to the Sweet 16.
