Boise St. President at it again

Does Boise St.'s President Bob Kustra have beef with any school in the BCS conference?

Boise State University president Bob Kustra is using a recent error in the final Bowl Championship Series rankings to fire off a new round of criticism of the system that determines postseason bowl pairings.



Kustra sent an e-mail to university presidents and conference commissioners Tuesday blasting the BCS system for its lack of transparency in the method used to rank college football teams

Did he think this recent computer glich was gonna put them in a BCS Bowl game after they lost to Nevada? He's starting to become the boy who cries wolf.

I think it is just another chance for those outside the system to rip it, and I applaud him. For LSU and the SEC to basically say the change will be made is a joke. THE BCS commissioners suck anus. For reals. It is a total sham. Hammer it whenever you can.

Boise States president is right. The BCS system is a mockery of athletics. College football is the only sport that I know of where a champion is not determined by playing the game. I applaud anyone who criticizes this putrid system. Even Gordon Monson criticizes it and I hate Gordon Monson.

At the same time, all the schools that complain about the BCS then vote to abide by its rules. If you really despise the BCS, then stand up for what you believe in. Don't allow your conference to adopt the BCS.

I'm fine with him standing firm in a belief and all. I just think if he continues... He'll be the Jesse Jackson of the non-BCS. Whenever this annoying Jesse Jackson flaps his gums, you already know what it's about. Racism. Some white guy said this or that.



I know this is nothing to do with race or anything. I just hope this Boise St. President picks his battles with this.

Nah, because Jesse Jackson calls out "Racism!" where there is none. The BCS is completely unfair, it sucks, it sucks for BSU that UCONN and Va Tech get a BCS bowl but a better BSU team doesn't.

Do you think it's a coincidence that the secret BCS formula "accidentally" dropped Boise State to 11th when a fact-checker found out they actually should have finished 10th? I don't. The whole system is a sham.



I like Mark Shurtleff for the same reason. (I heard he has cancer by-the-way, hope he makes a full recovery)

I totally agree! This is something we could hash out with the dolt BCS committee, but nothing will change. I'm just kinda shocked Boise St.'s Pres is speaking out publicly again. Twice in like a two week period. Kinda shocking! I just don't want him to be the poster child of crying like this. It will eventually tarnish him and his program.



Anyways... BCS sucks! Since we're Indy, we'll have a far better chance of reaching a NC game now better than ever. Kinda strange how we hate the BCS but we all still want to have a part of it.

I totally agree! This is something we could hash out with the dolt BCS committee, but nothing will change. I'm just kinda shocked Boise St.'s Pres is speaking out publicly again. In what way do we have a better chance. THe only chance anyone has of reaching the NC game is to go undefeated and as TCU, BSU, Utah, and UH - a couple of them two or three times have found - that isn't even enough. So far INdependent looks like tougher schedule to ensure a loss and bingo not even a BCS Bowl.

In some regards I hope that we don't become part of the BCS. If it's really that unfair, then as an independent we should be able to control whether we become part of the system we don't believe in.



If the non-AQ teams think it's fair. Then act on it. Don't ratify the BCS contract. Let the BCS conferences break away. Don't play any of them. Take a stand. Act on what believe.
