What should I do?....abandon my friends?.....or neglect my family?....everyone seems to have the answer to my problems....

Obviously he has not made his mind up but if I had to guess, I would guess he is out of here.

My answer: fulfill your commitment and get used to being a man of your word. You said you'd play for BYU so stay and play. Friends change, your family will be fine. Get Skype and talk to them every week. But don't set the precedent for being someone who quits when things get tough, because in life, things will get tougher than playing college football.

(and I don't say this as a football fan. I've never seen him play and have no idea if he's good or not. Football is such a short blip on 99% of players' lives so preparing for life is more important.)

since when does attending college constitute "neglecting your family"?

"neglecting family".. reminds me of guys that tried to think of "good" reasons to leave the mission field.. If you want to leave, own up to it. If you can't hack the culture, rules, etc, admit it. Don't make up reasons to appease people.

Ya know, I feel so badly for this poor poor young man. He needs to be cottled and loved into staying at BYU. Can we do that? :whistle: :)

Here's what you do tayo;

first realize that your success is up to you. I don't know what your family situation is, but most families want to see their relatives do well in life. Stay at school and become a huge success story at BYU by developing an unstoppable work ethic, have fun, kill it on the field, go to the NFL, get a reality TV show at some point, etc etc etc.



It's your life man, quit listening to everyone so much and start doing..... something. None of us are in your shoes, make a choice and run with it.

I agree. He needs to think less about what is hard, and spend more time working. All the indecision here over eth past few months makes me think he is soft. commit...again i guess.... and get after it. if you work hard you will go to the nfl. if you quit odds are you will quit again when it gets hard wherever else you go.



put your head down and take advantage of the blessings right in front of you which are more than most people dream of.
