TCU or Wisconsin

This is the best Wisconsin team I've seen for a long time, but they're still in the little-10 which I think is always way over rated, and I lived in Ann Arbor for 8 years with tix at the big house.

My money is on TCU.

Wisconsin just feasted on the Little Sisters of the Poor in the Big 10, and struggled vs. MSU and OSU. So I like TCU's chances in this one.

TCU is favored by 3, and I expect the line to be close to a pick 'em. This is a good match up.

I dislike Bucky almost as much as I dislike Utah, but the Badgers are looking pretty good this year... I think Wisconsin pulls it out, even if I won't be cheering for them.

TCU has the unique ability to basically both stop the run and get pressure with their down four linemen. That means when the bring one extra LB, they able to get even more pressure and make plays in the backfield while still dropping six guys into coverage.

I think TCU is the only team that could stop Oregon or Auburn's offense because of that same reason: the ability to bring pressure without bringing extra guys.

What they also have is speed in the secondary which doesn't allow for much room after a catch. We have seen them be susceptibal to teams that can stretch the field, but I'm not sure if Wisconsin can win a game just throwing it. They must be able to run and it's been a long time since anyone was able to run on TCU.

I like the Horny Toads in what should be a great game. The Rose Bowl, BCS Championship are the 2nd and 3rd best matchups behind the NM Bowl.

Wisconsin has a phenomenal offense and has been getting better late in the season. TCU's defense is better, and their offense is very good. I'll give the edge to the horny toads, but it could go either way. I think this is the best matchup of the BCS games and will be the most entertaining to watch.

No, I think he's just asserting it... Though their statistical difference in their schedule strength is probably insignificant.

I am giving a very slight edge to TCU but I think it is very slight. BYU shut down TCU's running attack and that bodes well for Wisc. I also think that Wisc has one of the best running games going so it will be very difficult for TCU to stop the Wisc. ground game. If their smaller players can't get Wisc off the field in relatively short drives I can see the hogs and backs from Wisc wearing them out. And along with a running game comes TOP which means Andy boy sits on the sideline watching. All-in-all I think it is one of the more interesting matchups. I am surprised that Stanford was'nt swapped with TCU but if it hasn't happened by now I highly doubt it will happen.

Worst draw for horn frogs. They probably would have been happier with aubrun or oregon given their skill set and size.

Close game. If I had to pick I give a slight edge to the horned frogs. It will come down to the tcu offense, if they can keep their defense off of the field.

I think TCU is majorly underrated this year on offense. They have speed on the edges and can challenge any team. That freshman kid Boyce has really given them something they lacked previously--a down field burner with size, and teams that man up on him to try to contain Kurley over the middle pay for it. We did, Utah did, SDSU did, pretty much everyone does. Believe me when I saw Wisconsin will as well. I like TCU's balance over Wisconsin.

I wonder if there will be any mental stumbling blocks? I mean, TCU could/should be playing for a BCS Championship after all.

But, the Rose Bowl is no New Mexico Bowl. I think TCU beats Wisconsin in a great game.

I've watched Wisconsin play this year, and they are scary good. I think they will win by two scores.

no... no they shouldn't.

They deserve a SHOT at the championship - AKA, a playoff.

But as long as this is the system we have, they do not.

Have you watched the three teams play this year? Auburn and Oregon are worth the hype and appear vastly superior to TCU. Not only that, but their schedules are 20x better. The Rose Bowl is the right bowl for TCU, seeing as I think TCU and Wisconsin are currently the 3rd and 4th best teams in the country.

For example: think of the boost TCU's SOS got from playing "#5" Utah. That was their biggest and toughest game of the year. After that? SDSU? After that? A huge dropoff to BYU/Oregon State.

Sorry, but you can't look at both team's schedules and tell m you thought TCU's was tougher.

I'm confused, maybe you meant to say that SOS is subjective because it ignores a lot of context?

Anyway, It's the BCS system we are dealing with here. Everything is subjective.

Agreed. Patterson is great at playing up supposed verbal injuries to motivate his players. They are going to be out for blood against Wisconsin. They have the best defense in the nation to shut them down too. The Big Ten ain't a speed conference, and TCU ain't friggin' Northwestern.

TCU, in my book, is the best team in the country right now, and would beat Oregon or Auburn straight-up as well. I think Boise State would beat Wisconsin too.

And Italics, doesn't TCU have a better SOS than both Wisconsin and Oregon? Look up how SOS works. It doesn't give TCU credit for a victory over #5 Utah. It doesn't even give TCU credit for a victory over #20 Utah. It gives TCU credit for a victory over 10-2 Utah. Big difference. Something Oregon doesn't have very much of this year besides Stanford.

I'd like to see Patterson run up the score on Wisconsin like Beilema did on so many other teams this year. Oh, man it would be sweet to see the frogs hang 70 points on them. Obviously that isn't likely to happen but if it did, and if the NC game was close one, do you think any of the voters might be tempted to throw a #1 vote the frogs way?
