First I would like to say hola everyone I know it has been a little while since you last heard from me. But now to the matter at hand, some one special NEEDS HELP! My son was on craigslist the other day looking for some furniture and came across a listing that caught his heart!

He then turned to me and said mom can you help me help them? They really NEED help especially the kids now that the holidays are here. So I am here seeking assistance to help our family help this family, not only just for now the holidays but maybe a bit long term. I briefly spoke with Allison (mother) and got a better understanding of her situation. She had to flee her home on the West coast (for their safety can not say the exact state) with merely the clothes on their back from an abusive home. She is also not well health wise. I am awaiting to get more information to better give the details to help them.



She has 3 children; a 12 year old daughter McKenna, a 8 year old son Zachary, & a 3 year old son Devin. They were living in a shelter and have been blessed with a form of housing not ideal but still a home for them. The boys are trying to get with their friends and see if they can get a tree and some decorations and some gifts going for them as well. She is in need of sometimes getting a ride she is unable to drive due to her not being well. I will hopefully get more details from her soon she was pretty drained when I did get a hold of her.



Any ideas, suggestions and help is welcomed! I am going to try on my end to see what I can hustle up. Most important thing is the children especially with Christmas around the corner the other stuff can come with time! Maybe some of your wives that are in the Provo/Orem area can donate some cooking or baking that will be a help as well.



PS If anyone knows how I can go about setting up a fund at a bank for them please let me know so it can be taken care of ASAP!

Local churches will help. The sub4santa program is pretty big down here. The LDS church has family services, like counseling and things like that.

Have just been able to speak with Allison and she has suffered 2 bad seizures this week. She has been very drained and homebound! The oldest is pretty much left assisting in day to day things such as looking after the family. For now what we will have to do is have things get either picked up or dropped off at the school for O'Neill so that he can get it to her for now. Where to donate some $$? Is an account set up?

I am a long way away but would also donate $ if I know where?

I spoke with Deseret & Chase Bank both in Orem to see how to open an account for the family. Since she has been homebound its going to be hard for her to make it in to open the account and now I am working to see if I can get her mother to open it. However the alternative I have been told is to have an attorney to set up a trust..... ummm I never finished my law degree!

So if anyone knows anyone that can handle this and is willing please speak up. Time is of essence I really appreciate all the support everyone has been showing this family. We can't change the entire world but we sure can start to make a difference!

Her local Bishop can set them up with clothing and furniture through Deseret Industries. She can also receive job training there as well. They help anyone, regardless of religion. They are happy to meet with her to find out what her needs are and provide an opportunity to visit the store and select the items needed. There is also food available through the same program.

They also provide family and individual counseling (I'm pretty sure it is free), which it sounds like she might need after her experience.

I have learned we have a great group of people here, who mean well. I think we all can skip a lunch and donate a little cash.

No deadline, however you better get with the program on the wife's gift! That my dear has a deadline that I am sure you don't want to come and go lol!
