NM Bowl '10, Pinstripe Bowl in '11-12?

So of course I'm bummed about the NM bowl and UTEP but BYU gets the practices and continues improving.



What do you think happens in 2011-12. My dream is 13-0 and a trip to the BCS championship but more realistically I'm thinking 11-2 (losses to Texas and some game game due to poor clock management or some other coaching blunder). 12-1 might yield the Fiesta bowl if none of the other non-AQ remain undefeated. But at 11-2 I think we might play in the Holiday bowl or Pinstripe Bowl which have the 5th and 7th picks from the Big12 and here is my reasoning.



The Big12 will only have 10 teams and they have 8 bowl slots. They play a nine game conference schedule and the unwatered down PAC-10 rarely filled its 6 bowl games playing a nine game conference schedule. So barring a contract with another bowl, BYU finishing anywhere from 8-5 to 11-2, goes to New York to play a Big East team at the end of the season in Yankee stadium or if the cards fall right (two Big12 teams in the BCS and only 6 eligible teams), to the Holiday bowl to play a PAC-10 team. Of course if they end up 7-6 I may end up back in Albuquerque to visit family again and catch a bowl game while I'm at it.



What do you think?

I have no idea, it can't be Albuquerque-no offense to anyone. I'd rather play outside the mwc footprint someplace warm and nice. I'd be happy with anything in Texas. It would be smart to have BYU bowling in Big 12 geography. From what I've read and heard Oklahoma is favoring BYU more than anyone else and Tech fans wouldn't mind BYU in.



Will ESPN help? Will Vegas be our go to bowl? Screw the mwc and get on ESPN? That's what we all really want for Christmas right?



How about we create a bowl in Miami? 10 dollar tickets and call it the BYU Freedom Bowl sponsored by Kreg Thompson (a made up name sounding like Craig Thompson-to stick it)

bcs or bust the next few years! That is what we are playing for because the only bowl opportunities we are going to get are at large bowls with contracts not being fulfilled.
