Harvey Langi - well???????

Now that the BYU vs. Yewt game is over; I have no doubt Harvey Langi watched - and evaluated the quality of each team & where he might like to play. I know the Cougs out-performed many expectations & elevated their stature.



I can't help but feel BYU presented a "good case" for a team with a bright future this last Sat. I would think Harvey would also see the potential, and consider joining a team with a lot of upside - combined with Independence & a National schedule.



Any thoughts?

Utah has two RB's graduating this year in Asiata and Wide III. They have an open slot to start him next year.



Langi doesn't have that option at BYU.



I'm sure he wants to start right away.



He'll suit up for the frUtes next year.

There are some arguments for BYU too. Sausan Shakerin came to Utah being considered the guy his freshman year too and that never materialized.



BYU offers a lot of things that Utah doesn't, particularly the leaders of his high school team in kesni, baker, and manoa... they were the heart and soul of Bingham the last 3 years.



The Cougars will be fine with or without him; I'd much rather find the next stud DL, DB or WR right now.

In my opinion it is up to Mr. Langi to prove he is what BYU needs at RB. he should be begging Bronco not vice versa.

BYU isn't exactly hurting at RB for the next year or two. It's always hard to tell who from High School is going to pan out anyway.

Exactly. BYU is a special school, if you want to go there then you will do everything you can to get there, because there is no where else like it.



If Langi wants to be a Cougar then he needs to really show it. Begging him will only lead to him thinking he is above the program and above the rules, which would likely lead to an early dismissal.

Langi is not a great fit for BYU. He's an excellent talent, but I think he'd be happier as a :utard:

PErsonally, I would love to see him in BYU blue in the backfield ready to play for the team. BYU would do him a world of good, if he wants that type of environment.

Jray galea or however you spell his name may be good at safety as well.

First, I would say not many players let the teams depth chart make their decision because, I would say that any player who chooses to shy away from a school because there are too many players at their position doesn't seem to be very willing to compete, and not a player a school should want anyway. Second, I think after his pot smoking/trespassing incident Langi has dropped significantly on BYU's recruiting list. He's a great player, but carries too high of a risk to make too much push to get him. Besides, I'm stoked about Quezada and Adam Hine (Timo) returning from a mission. That kid can play and has the speed and moves Langi just dreams about. And with them running behind Algernon Brown and Manoa Pikula (another Fahu Tahi) from Bingham at fullback BYU is not going to be in need of RB's. They need to get some good receivers and D-lineman now.
