Bowl Game? 2011!

I should probably make two thread for this but here goes...



Where does BYU go bowling? DO they go bowling?



2011 football season is upon us and I can't wait. This was a good team that went through some serious adversity. Tonight's game disappointed, but showed that this young team is going to do some serious damage for YEARS. Despite all the "shot in the foot" moments, controversy with reffing, playing at res, freshman qb, lucky breaks everywhere you look for utah, BYU was within a field goal of winning against the #22 team in the country.



Even if BYU doesn't get a new OC, the offense next year should be lightyears ahead of where it started this year. The defense, armed with their new coach (thank you Bronco Mendenhall!) was killer today. I would not want to be a team facing BYU next year or for the 2 following years. And it's only going to get better. Exposure will go through the roof, BYU will have a better schedule, recruiting will be up. I don't think I'm being blue-googled stating that 2010 will be the worst record BYU will have for at least 3 years. Great year BYU, it was torture sometimes, but I'm glad I was along for the ride.

Yes, we'll go bowling. Probably won't find out until Monday at the earliest. I'm guessing New Mexico Bowl!

I'm hoping for the Armed Forces Bowl in Dallas.

We won't find out until after the BCS games are announced. TCU goes first, then the rest of the bowls get to pick once they find out if TCU makes a BCS game (which they will). I don't think we find anything out until next Sunday. I'm hoping for the Independence bowl, to play an ACC team (I'm assuming that :utard: goes to Vegas)

I'd be shocked if the Utes don't go to Vegas (what an honor for them to go play one of their new conference mates).



ESPN has predicted BYU to New Mexico Bowl ... but I'm still hoping for Independence (even though it is a December 27th game ... but the poetry of going to the Independence Bowl they year we go Independent is too good to miss!)

The New Mexico bowl is such a huge disappointment and almost completely worthless. At least we'd get 20 practices out of it, but that's the only positive.

I have no doubt that BYU will be using all his practices this year, unless injuries are a problem. This isn't 2008. Bronco said in the post game that a new season started about 7 weeks ago.

I heard a rumor that the Vegas Bowl was trying to get Notre Dame. Vegas wouldn't ask Utah to play N.D. again in the same season. Plus, BYU-Notre Dame would be one heck of a sell out!

Seems to me you have the Armed Forces and Independence backwards ... wouldn't Armed Forces picking Air Force be the more natural ... and rumors have it that the Independence folks have been looking at BYU for a while

What MMC Bowl wouldn't be looking in BYU? We bring far more ticket sales than any other school in the conference. I can totally see the Independence Bowl picking BYU. Especially with this Bowl being played back East.

Air Force to the Armed Forces bowl would be an Army Air Force rematch. Not sure that's what they're looking for.
