Kneen Down?

I don't know about you but those camera angles sure made it look like Brandon Bradley's knee was down long before the ball was stripped. Anybody else agree?

no question his knee was down and his butt was down, but he shouldn't have been shaking and jiving in the first place. Just go down with the ball.



Can't tackle, can't cover half the time, and then do that? Horrible mistake for a 3 year starter.

His knee was clearly down before the ball was stripped from him. Bad call by the refs on the review. And don't blame Bradley, as was said over and over by the mtn. broadcast crew, it should have been overturned as Bradley was down.

I am not usually one for blaming the refs for a loss. But........

I think his knee might have been down on that play. Ugh!

I hate it when defensive backs intercept and run back into the pack. They are asking for trouble. Now, if BYU was behind and time was of the essence, go for it. But that wasn't the case. Poor kid, will have to live with that mistake for a long, long time... However, it could have been saved had Anae not put the brakes on trying to get closer. Let Heaps call his shot. Wide open or out of bounds. At least, we wouldn't have lost yards for Payne.

I wonder if the MWC will have a problem with this one, or if they'll just chalk it up to karma?

Yes, it was third down, change of possession to BYU, fumble, so Utah gets the ball and a first down, probably short of the original first down mark.

I don't recall the down, but when you see a hit is imminent, go into your fetal position ON THE GROUND with the ball cuddled in the gut. As the old addage says, they were trying to not lose, rather than trying to win. It's like the nickel defense (the easy way to lose a game) that lets the opponents complete passes, but not long ones. But this time, it was offensively. Get in field goal range, and then run up the gut just trying to not lose yards or center of the field position. Heaps was moving the ball, until they played to not lose. Can I call it the "nickel" offense?......

I knew it. my prediction was correct! If utah had thrown 2 ints instead of 3 (the one to bradley) BYU would have got the ball back and the game would have been over. ;)

Ya...I do believe that was a third down. Did you see how Payne was treated after his field goal attempt was blocked? Those Ute fans were pushing and shoving him around like he wasn't human....and they get mad when Max makes his comment.....sorry hate to bring last year into play but that is pretty classless if you ask me.

Agreed. I would add though, that this was not just a bad call. It was a deliberately dishonest one. 'Nuf said; I gave my diatribe on another thread.

Huh. An amazing dab o' crap does us in and turns to gold for the Pukes, who's post-game antics today were as lacking in class as Max had previously said.

With the whole two camera angles of the Mountain West you could tell deliberately from both of them that his knee was down and from one of them it even looked like his "buttocks" (being as correct as our best friend Todd) was down.
