What if....

I started thinking after reading about the BSU loss last night. They are out of the BCS picture now, not a chance that the BCS is going to take a 1 loss BSU team. What if the PAC 10 is unable to fill thier bowl alotment and the Las vegas bowl has the opportunity to pick BSU. What if BYU beats the utes and also goes to the Las Vegas bowl. You guys who always want to play BSU would get your shot. I personally don't want BYU to play them, I don't want to see the result but I know a lot of posters always bemoan the fact that we don't get a shot to play them. In fact a lot of posters wanted to play them in 2008 which IMO would have been a disaster for BYU. Anyway, just a thought.

Big mistake all around. Boise would chew us up and spit us out 10 times over.

This year Probably. Next year would have been a great year to meet BSU.

Why not play them in a bowl game? I dont get the mentality that we shouldn't play them because they would kill us. Early season I can see the logic in scheduling down to give yourself time to put it all together, but at the end of the year, why not? We are expected to lose so pressure is off. We gain a barometer of where we end up this year and we gain valuable experience against a great team. Who knows, maybe bsu comes out flat and unmotivated because they are playing beneath themselves in the BYU bowl and we make a game of it.



Besides the possibility of a loss, why wouldn't we want to play bsu, Alabama, Oregon or anybody in a bowl game? I would rather see us play the best with little chance of a win than to play way below us and be expected to win.

Wow!! You think like Bronco. He's always told the team "we should never be afraid to play any team."

There are a few people that keep wanting to replay the season. Personally, I like Bowl games with close to a 50/50 chance if winning which makes for interesting games. I prefer a decent but over-rated opponent - preferably BCS conference opponent.



Oh - we have an opponent kind of like that today except I wish it was on a neutral field someplace warm. But where would that be. So cal is freezing cold today. Maybe Aloha Stadium. I digress - SLC.



After we, hopefully, beat Utah it will be easier for me to pick a near equal opponent. But I hate it when cold, rain, snow, or wind become a major factor.



I try not to look back, but beating UCLA in that rematch fame was satisfying.



I am confident we could beat USU. Ask me after the game today whether I think we could beat AFA - but that is a boring style of football opponentxwith too much risk if injuries.



I am not sure we could compete with Nevada or FSU and I am not sure we couldn't.



Utah is a nice measuring stick game to find out how much we have really improved.



I have not seen a prediction thread for this game - maybe everyone is like me - I have no idea what to expect from either offense but BYU has a better defense barring further injuries.



Wild guess - BYU 21 Utah 20 even though I fear a loss today. This is my Homer Pick of the day.
