Bold Homer Predictions for the Utah Game

Alright, I know everyone has made their best and most objective guess for the game in the predictions game. But now it's time to go out on a limb and be the blue-goggled homer you really are inside. I want your boldest predictions on the things that are going to happen in this game that nobody else will see coming. Do we finally take a kickoff to the house? Could we go an entire game with the :utard: and not have a personal foul on either side? Let's hear 'em!



My prediction: Sometime in the first half with :utard: threatening to score, Bronco dials up the Corby Eason Special. Eason comes in untouched and blasts Wynn from the blindside, which causes a fumble and completely changes the complexion of the game.

Van Noy & Pendleton have a forceful meeting at the QB (Wynn) Corby Eason scoops up the resulting fumble and runs back for a TD.

We'll get to see Kyle Whittingham cry ....again.... :evil:

I do agree that BYU will win by single digits, thwarting a :utard: victory for the 4th time in 5 years, leaving the SNOT to wallow in their 12pac.

My bold prediction (wish) is that the frUtes execute a performance the likes of which TCU and ND saw this year, and BYU has a game like they had against UNLV and CSU. BYU comes out punches Utah in the mouth, forces a couple early turnovers, capitalizes, and before the frUtes know it, it's a blowout.

I predict several early sacks scaring the muss out of Wynn. Wynn then panics at the thought of any pressure and throws 7 picks in the game. The yewts leave the game wishing they could have at least had a Max Hall performance.

I think Schmoe's prediction is most likely. Why? It's pure and simple: Our D is better than their O and our O is better than their D. Take notice that it is them, and not us who are saying what they're going to have to do (stop the opponent's potent ground game/get pressure on opponent's QB), to have a chance in this one. They're going to have to stack the box against us to come close to the first goal, and then that imbalanced formation will be exploited over the top by Heaps and his receivers, against a Ute secondary that is not as good as last year's. Then they will start to drop back to give themselves a cushion, allowing our out-standing RB's to pound them for 5 to 8 YPC. The Utes are hoping that our QB will be too young to remain cool against them, and not be able to check down and unload the ball fast enough against their blitz, but I believe that Heaps will remain plenty cool. Only an injury would/could remove Heaps as a factor, and although that might bring a closer outcome, Lark should still be able to take 'em. Get ready to celebrate!



A few items aside: Cody Hoffman has a big day at RES, Mike Muehlman (spelling) emerges as the "go to" TE, Juice gets two rushing TD's, JJ gets 70 yards, BYU gets total rushing over 150, Heaps passes for over 300, So'oto makes two sacks, Van Noy has one,

and BYU's secondary forces two fumbles between Rich and Uale, plus two interceptions.

Yeah ... then the "little guy" will claim it's just that it was REALLY COLD :lol:

I don't fear the Ute's pass defense. Their pass rush isn't fierce (4 sacks last 4 games is very manageable). I've already posted about their PER defense.



If I had to pick a blowout it'd be by the Cougs. But I think we're in for a close, tight game.
