Is Cal supposed to be good? Wasn't New Mexico ranked?

Cal lost seven of their top 10 scorers. They're in a complete rebuilding mold. Doesn't mean they aren't good, though, just means no one knows much about them. Cal won the Pac 10 Championships last season and made it past the first round of the NCAA tourney, losing to Duke.



Neither Cal or UNM are ranked. I don't think losing to Cal @ Cal would necessarily be an unexpected loss for UNM, but losing by 25 points...is pretty atrocious. Cal is very well coached.



Washington is predicted to win the Pac 10 conference this season and is ranked.



I would have expected UNM to win this game and at the very least keep it close. Getting blown out doesn't bode too well for them.
