BYU vs Creighton 12/1/10

Any MidWesterners headed to Omaha for this game?



I have to hit HQ for some training and will be in town, so I got tickets with some BYU alum from work.



Who else will be there?

I'm planning on taking my wife and going - I'm working on getting tickets. It's about a 2-hour drive for me, so it will make for a late Wednesday night, but worth it (especially if the Y wins). The timing will actually work out about the same as the nights we go to the temple (Winter Quarters). I may have some friends in my ward that will come as well.

Got my tickets! After seeing the showing agains SMC, I'm looking forward to this game. Any other midwesterners coming? It would be great to have a big Cougar presence for the game.

Creighton is BYU's 7th game of the year, but our FIRST true road game of the season!



How will these poor-shooting high-effort guys do in front of a hostile crowd in an opposing team's gym? Especially in a non-large LDS area? Good question.

Wait, aren't the Hartsocks bringing all of Bartlesville up for it??? ;)

The Hartsocks all went to South Padre and apparently are not going to the Creighton game; Jacob (the high school soph) told me they're not going up to Omaha. (which would be about a 7 hour drive for them)

What is the line and how do we match up? I was pleased that we were a little less 2-dimensional in the last game but the field goal % and the free throw % are so untypical of BYU Basketball. I hope they fire Anae - the playcalling and shot selection suck! TIC TIC



I hope the Provo High School boys - my alma mater of sorts - step it up a notch.

We match up well IF we come out strong like we did against St. Marys. They aren't as good at anything that St. Marys is good at. (they dont' shoot as well, aren't as athletic, inexperienced etc.) HOWEVER they do play well at home and get good crowds.



They do a lot of things good, but nothing great. If the Cougs play good, we win. We've already beaten several better teams, so if we lose it'll be because we didn't play well in a true road game.

I always remembered Creighton as being a big, tough, physical team. But is' been a couple years since I've really watched them play a lot. Hopefully that has changed - I'm not sure how well we'd match up with such a team down low.

On a slightly more serious note-



I think Emery will be able to keep their point Young out of the paint. Kyle Collinsworth and Abouo are a good matchup for their forward McDermont. But I am concerned about their Center. Kenny Lawson Jr. is 6'9" and 250 lbs. He is reportedly an athletic player.



So we will need Davies and Anderson to give us good defensive minutes.



Also we will probably need to shot better from the free throw line to win.

Anderson will give the Cougs a few good minutes..........and five fouls. Sorry, couldnt resist. I like that kid and he does present a tall tower in the middle when he is in there.
