With their new coach and sportmanlike play, UNLV might be my 2nd favorite MWC team (football only of course).

AFA tends to get worn down due to Cadets taking 18 units and actually having to attend class. I suspect they Lise some focus during preparation and get robbed of sleep.



That is why it sucked getting stuck playing them on the road week 2.

What do you mean what gives? Isn't it obvious? Isn't it typical for teams to play their best game of the season against us and then be too worn out and devoid of motivation to win the rest of the season? This hardly surprises me. It's embarrassing and disgusting, but hey, that's the MWC for ya'.

AFA 35 UNLV 20. It was a home game for UNLV and late season for AFA which is when we usually play and beat AFA. About PAR for the course.



I am 90% confident Jake Heaps has lifted all boats that Bronco Mendenhall had not already lifted that we could beat AFA in Provo right now. I am 66.67% confident we could beat AFA in Colo Springs right now.



But this is the Here and Now and we played them in the There and Then - and you don't get to replay the games.



Much as we would all like to replay USU, AFA, and maybe even FSU and UNR here and now - keep in mind that UW would like that close game in week 1 back and thinks they could have beaten us had we not confused them by playing two QBs and two systems. Both SDSU and Wyoming think they beat us but for bad officiating.



But not many of us want to replay TCU in Fort Worth and I doubt UNLV or CSU want another drubbing from us.



I am excited about UNM and will be in my seaon seats with my sons wondering if anyone is going to bring mr my Heaps Peeps T-Shirts at half-time which would be symbolic. I would love to wear one in honor of the 2nd half of this season.



Then all eyes on the Utes - gotta finish the MWC send-off properly.

Looks like Cornett got 24 carries for 69 yards and a td. Do you think he will get MWC player of the week honors again?

Certainly deserving stats. :D

Just a hunch - and I will wait until all the games are played before I vote - but I think Jake Heaps will be a contender after lifting all the boats again.



Running game will eat up enough yards to maybe keep Heaps from getting enough yards, but if he gets another 4 TDs and no picks he is going to get my vote.

Yeah, we've seen what he did against the 7th and 8th worst defenses in the MWC, let's see what he does against the worst MWC defense. In all honesty, 200 yards and 2 TDs would be a disappointment. I could see another almost 300 yard day and 4 TDs day. Maybe not a 240 PER day, but a great day nonetheless.
