Locker: The most beloved loser.

They are giving ucla a game right now up 10-7. Locker did nothing to get his team down to ucla's 10 yard line in the 3rd, his RBs did it all, and on 3rd and 5 at the 10, he overthrew his receiver by (edit) several yards. Why was this guy ever a heisman candidate? I'll never know. Thanks for the 2 Ws u-dub. ;)

Not to defend Locker, who is definitely over-hyped, but he has been injured - ribs. I have this from someone who definitely knows.



He has a RS Freshman back-up and True Freshman Nick Montana on the bench. Too bad UW can't suit up Joe Montana. He attends the games.

That's right I forgot he's been "injured" how was his health when they went 0-12? Since they are pac-10 they obviously have the talent, I wouldn't mind if they got a little better and beat utah next year.

Actually, Locker got knocked out for the season the game after the lost to BYU in 2008. They were less competitive after that.

UW up 24-7 with 4:24 left in the game. After this win they will be 4-6, which is not so different from 5-5.

Lawboy is right. Not only did Locker get injured after nearly beating BYU - but go pull up the UW schedule for that year and BYU and WSU stand out as perhaps the two easiest games they played. BYU at home was definitely the easiest OOC game. Iirc, LSU and BSU were the other two OOC.



Look at their schedule this year. BYU in Provo, Nebraska, and a decent Big East team that they beat. They beat USC two years in a row.



They are not great, but their schedule makes them look worse.



Nobody should play their schedule.

I don't care how tough Locker's schedule's been. He's injury prone and he's a loser. He can't stay healthy and he doesn't win games when he is. Those are two traits I don't need in a QB. Throw in abysmal accuracy and poor decision making and explain to me why any team would take this kid in the first round.

I'm assuming you mean Heaps is 5-5, but Heaps didn't get "national heisman" attention. Just BYU attention (albeit somewhat national)

Never has such a talented player been so overrated and overhyped in spite of next to no production worthy of the praise (at least Tebow won games).



Considering the # of wins that UW has the last 4 years, what QB in the Pac-10 couldn't produce 13

wins (in 4 years)? (we have 37 in that same time)



(they have 27 wins in the last 9 years and have not been to a bowl game since 2002; which they lost) (in that same time we've won 63 games and made it to 5 bowl games, in spite of the Crowton era)



Our Jake is a better decision maker as a true freshman than their Jake is as a senior.'



In spite of that, Locker was a #3 or better pick in last years NFL draft. Now he's starting at a huge drop, a potential lockout (no play no pay) and a shrinking signing bonus larger than many towns entire operating budgets.



Sarkisian has not and did not work miracles with Locker; a real argument can be made that Sark is not head coach material and that UW will not see a Rose Bowl during his tenure. Next season is not getting better for the Huskies and now the golden boy that gave up a fortune to return will be gone.



Not only did bringing back Locker expose Jake, but it also exposed Sark.

On the bright side for Husky fans, UW recruits have been very good in spite of their failures to go to a bowl game in an eternity; but UCLA has done well in recruiting too and they're still staring at a 6-6 season (or worse).

I've heard that his throws are off because he has a high ankle sprain....

All I know is that if Locker was a decent QB they would have beat BYU this year. But he looked absolutely dreadful. Throwing balls into the dirt on short throws, overthrowing guys by 10 yards on longer throws, etc. He has to be one of the most over-hyped QB's of all time.
