If you have 20-30 minutes to kill, I suggest you take a look at the link below which, to me, might be the most fascinating sports message board thread of all time. While it is from a message board, I think most of the information appears legit. I think it's a huge crap storm ready to happen-a storm that will leave Auburn kicked out of the SEC and, potentially, with an Auburn death penalty.

"[MSU Head Coach] Mullen, along with LSU Offensive Coordinator Gary Crowton and University of Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly, are part of the so-called "New Hampshire mafia" as they all have strong connections to New Hampshire. " Looks from this like Mullen and MSU will come out ok on this...

Auburn's board of trustees makes me very grateful for BYU's board of trustees.

Great read. Cam Newton is a small player in this story beleive it or not, with Auburn being a bigger player. Not surprised at all by the level of cheating going on in the SEC and Auburn in particular. I am sure stuff like this goes on at all the schools. But seeing the people who are invovled going down on federal counts, and they might have funneled funds from their organizations illegally to pay kids to come to Auburn where many of them are Unversity trustees, well, that is epic. Is this read is only 50% true, Auburn deserves the SMU treatment and should lose football for 5 years minimum.

Auburn is about to burn.

Holy &&#*@! If this is true...it could seriously destroy not just Auburn, but the NCAA, and college sports as we know it. Seriously.

Does anyone really think that Auburn is the only one out there doing stuff like this? Can of worms = opened.

How many BYU targets were lured away by stuff like this. (hypothetically; Te'o, Schwenke, Ben Olson...?)

and,

has BYU ever done it. Don't just say 'no' because we have an honor code . I'd like to think the University officials are above any of this, but I wouldn't put it past some unscrupulous booster to go directly to the recruit.

If even half of all that is true, Auburn should be playing in the Sun Belt Conference by this time next year. I bet there are more than a couple SEC schools with document shredders working overtime this week. Those schools are dirty.

Everything about the SEC is designed to make sure they rarely, if ever need to play on a level playing field. SEC designed and drove the equally corrupt BCS Cartel.

It sounds like it is apparently common practice to shop recruits P 4 P at any SEC school that starts with an A or is in the state of Alabama. There are probably others.

I don't think Auburn gets more than a slap on the wrists for anything. That's just the way college football is. Sad but true.

No way in hades. I think Auburn losing its accrediation and CLOSING is more likely than a slap on the wrist this time.

It comes down to how much they can prove Auburn officials knew about what the boosters were doing. Everyone will Lawyer up, clam up, shred up given how bold these guys are, and try to talk and negotiate their way to the wrist slap.

But if the proof is there of institutional knowledge to tie INS with gambling and especially rigged gambling - they will cut both hands off after slapping the wrists.

Watch for a lot of very bright people to start playing very dumb.

And remember how long it took to bring USC to task even without the ties to gambling.

USC didn't have people on audiotape asking for cash in exchange for signing their son. USC didn't have ties to corrupt state supreme court justices, state legislators, murder-for-hire schemes, systemic pay-for-play schemes, bank fraud, bribery, etc.

This isn't even close to USC.

I would love the NCAA to do away with the BCS, take control of football, and become the governing body they should have been the last 15 years in order to stop corruption like this.

IT'S A GAME, I can't believe people would risk their integrity over something like this.

Huge difference. Many of the people involved are not mere boosters. They are actually members of the Board of trustees for the University. In other words, this mess goes right to the top. And if this is true and I was a fan of Auburn, I would be royally pissed off. I would want those dudes banned from any contact with my university forever.

Using a bank and funds from gambling to pay kids to play? Banks owned and managed by those on teh BoT? and then the bank goes down, the FBI investigates, and Cam Newton gets caught in the middle. This is better than Grisham, and it might be true.

If Auburn does get kicked out of SEC, that will really screw up college football. The SEC would lose their championship game, only having 11 teams. Any team that they would want, whould have to wait a year before they join the conference. Now with the rumors the TCU is set to go to the Big East, and the WAC getting ready to dissolve with the lose of Hawaii, it appears that the off-season will crazy, with rumors of the super conferences returning.

Super conferences? So who calls BYU first? Because the call will come. BYU brings too much $$ to ignore.

If the Auburn Colonial Bank stuff is true, I hope Auburn gets the SMU treatment.
