Can't help but think that the more Heaps and BYU's offense has success, the more attractive we become the aspiring WR, TE recruits. Given the way our offense has opened up and shown a propensity to put points on the scoreboard, I envision a high octane offense that attract receivers who love getting a chance to strut their stuff.

Couple this strength with a commitment to the running attack as well, and we should be able to pick up future outstanding runners and a OL who love to both pass-run block.

With the Y playing as an Independent next year, and a greater exposure to our fan base and the country in general, I can't help but think, our style of play will allow us to broaden our recruiting base to help out Heaps et. al.

I agree, but hope Heaps continues to throw with improved precision when the opponents get to be a little tougher. I am optimistic that he will do well enough. BYU needs to end up 8-5 and if we do, we will be back in the national conversation next season if the early schedule doesn't kill us. A rising tide lifts all boats - including recruiting.

LDS athletes already know about BYU, it's just the independence/exposure will help ensure we have a better chance with the Manti Teo's of the world. We need to be able to keep those elite LDS athletes in the system rather than see them go elsewhere

In many cases, we need to GET them into the system in the first place! In the future, BYU should be at or near the top of the list for any and all LDS athletes across the country.

Great point - as you can see from our recruiting approach - we are getting really promising recruits to commit several years down the road (2012 - 2014). This exposure will hopefully get them to attend our football camp which is where we really can determine if the players film matches what is seen on the field as well as their character - willingness to learn.

Yes. But more importantly - If Chad Lewis/Ty Detmer/Ben Cahoon teaches, they will come.
