Bronco MWC coach of the year?

He should be. No one has come close to what he has done with this years BYU team. The turn around in the way this team is playing now compared to what they were doing the first 5 games isn't even close and it all started when Bronco fired coach Hill and took over the defense. Having said that, do you think the MWC will have the guts to do the right thing and make him the coach of the year or do you think they will continue their vindictive ways and deny him the deserved honor since we are leaving the MWC this year?

it's Patterson hands down. Even Bronco would admit that. For everything good that has happened in the 2nd half of our season, he knows he has to take responsibility for the 1st half too, including allowing his assistants too much rope.

They'll give it to Brady Hoke at SDSU.

Hoke will be the coach of the year. Just watch.

You forget how many players TCU lost to the NFL then... TCU has exceeded my expectations from the beginning of the season, but now that I think about it, if SDSU can win out, Brady Hoke would be the sentimental favorite, considering where they came from last year. That does make sense.

Everyone always wants to jump the gun and vote early on incomplete information. I hope they vote at the end of the season and see who deserves it mist when all is done.



BYU needs to focus on what it can control. You can't change the past, but we do have an opportunity to go 3-0 the rest of the way - sweet and at 8-5 with a win over Urah and a Bowl opponent, this team will have met or exceeded any reasonable expectation.



SDSU is exceeding expectations. But will they continue to do so. I know they wish they could have their loss to BYU back.



What if TCU wins the first ever BCS Championship by a non-BCS team - epic even if their coach is irritating as heck.



What if SDSU loses out and TCU gets upset and then loses again in the Las Vegas Bowl?



Luckily for this board, Kwhit has been taken out of it unless Utah wins out and TCU falters badly and SDSU loses to Utag and in a Bowl.



AFA started well but is already out of that race.

It is too bad that we don't get TCU in week 1 next year in Provo breaking in a new QB. That would have a chance of being very sweet.

Ask yourself who decides these things and then you'll know why Bronco will finish a distant third place behind Hoke and Fatterson.

That was actually the point of my thread. I still think that no matter what SDSU or TCU does this year, the turn around that Bronco did with this very young team should get him the honor but I don't expect the MWC to do the right thing and give it to him. TCU got nearly its entire offense back from a team that killed everyone it played in the regular season last year. They got a lions share of that great defense from last year back as well which is why they started the year in the top 10. I don't think anything they have done this year has been unexpected. SDSU's coach probably deserves it too but IMO Bronco has had the harder job this year since SDSU started their rebuilding last year and Bronco rebuilt this team mid season.

In 2007 I thought he deserved COY again since he did the 2006 repeat with a reloaded team. AF Calhoun got it...even though they finished a distant 2nd (1 loss)





So, everyone thought Calhoun deserved it for turning a team around to finish second, by the same logic (not mine) Mendenhall deserves it for turning a team around that will finish second.

Typically, Coach of the Year is awarded to the team who shows the most improvement between seasons. It's pretty hard to give it to Bronco since his team will not match last season's 11-2 record and was predicted to finish 4th this season, which is where they are right now. Patterson won last season, is expected and has won again this season. Hoke has his team on the verge of finishing 2d in the MWC if he wins out. They were picked no higher than 6th in the preseason.



I see Hoke winning it at this time and definitely if they beat :utard: when they play.

If SDSU wins out and BYU wins out, both would finish with two losses and the Cougs would have the tie-break.
